Recently, the People's Committee of Nghe An province heard a report on the implementation of traffic safety and order work in 2025 and the direction and tasks for 2026.

According to the Department of Construction, from the beginning of 2025 to the present, the province has registered 13,015 new cars, 55,772 motorcycles and scooters, and 15,795 electric motorbikes, averaging more than 1,200 cars and 4,500 motorcycles and scooters put into circulation each month. Currently, the province manages a total of 215,655 cars, 2,143,930 motorcycles, and 168,470 electric motorbikes.

During patrol and control operations, the traffic police force conducted 32,272 patrol shifts; detected and issued administrative violation reports on traffic safety in 73,826 cases, issued fines in 66,793 cases, and transferred over 118.4 billion VND to the State budget.

On roads alone, authorities recorded 73,460 violations, including 30,814 violations by car drivers, 12,946 violations by motorcycle and scooter drivers, and 865 violations by other vehicles; temporarily seizing 58 cars, 4,148 motorcycles, and 27 other vehicles.

A total of 66,427 cases have complied with the penalty decisions, transferring over 117.7 billion VND to the State budget; at the same time, 4,153 cases had their driver's licenses and professional certificates revoked, and 9,261 cases had points deducted from their driver's licenses.

The main violations continued to focus on highly unsafe behaviors: not wearing a helmet (4,127 cases), driving without a license (11,528 cases), driving under the influence of alcohol (3,543 cases), and speeding (22,094 cases).

In addition, there are violations such as illegal parking, overloaded or oversized cargo vehicles, unauthorized modifications to vehicle bodies, failure to meet technical safety standards, and carrying more passengers than permitted.

Along with direct patrols, the camera-based traffic violation monitoring system continues to prove effective. During the year, the system recorded 4,965 cases, including 4,892 cases of speeding and 73 cases of failing to obey traffic lights.

Based on this data, authorities have imposed fines totaling over 11.5 billion VND, revoked 1,084 driver's licenses, and deducted points from 455 cases.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of various functional forces, traffic accidents in Nghe An province decreased in all three criteria in 2025.

In 2025 (from December 15, 2024 to October 14, 2025), there was a decrease of 41 accidents (12.1%), 11 deaths (4.8%), and 7 injuries (4.1%) compared to the same period in 2024.
