Nghe An: Over 12 billion VND provided to support families of fallen soldiers.

(Baonghean.vn) - After more than 3 years of operation,FestivalThe Nghe An Martyrs' Support Program has provided assistance to the families of martyrs, including the construction of 127 charitable houses, hundreds of savings accounts, and thousands of gifts for the relatives and families of martyrs, with a total value exceeding 12 billion VND.

The Nghe An Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs was established in May 2015 and currently has over 200 members operating in 21 districts, towns, and cities across the province. Its purpose is to support the connection of information about the graves and remains of martyrs; assist in DNA scientific testing; and help families of martyrs access, implement, and benefit from related policies and regulations.

After more than 3 years of operation, the Association has implemented many meaningful and practical activities and programs for the families of martyrs: Actively mobilizing support for the Fund to build houses of gratitude, repair houses, tặng savings accounts to relatives of martyrs' families in difficult circumstances, upgrade martyrs' cemeteries; organizing the program "Lighting the flame of gratitude - warming the camaraderie"...

To date, 194 organizations, units, businesses, and individuals have supported the Provincial Fund for Supporting Families of Martyrs with a total amount of over 12 billion VND (organizations, units, and businesses contributed 6.2 billion VND; 18 districts and towns registered contributions from the Gratitude Fund totaling over 6.1 billion VND).

In 2017 alone, the Association provided 3 billion VND in support for the following activities: Donating 43 savings accounts (each worth 5-10 million VND), 200 gift packages (each worth 500,000 VND), and 10 wheelchairs to the families of martyrs throughout the province; supporting the construction of 41 new houses of gratitude and repairing one house (each house worth 50 million VND) for the families of martyrs facing housing difficulties; and supporting the renovation of the martyrs' cemetery in Hung Chinh commune (Vinh City).

In 2018, the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs continued to call upon and mobilize organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to provide support.The program aims to support disadvantaged families of martyrs by building and repairing 70 houses of gratitude, distributing 60-70 savings accounts, 100-250 gift packages, and 25 wheelchairs.

At the same time, the Association will strengthen coordination with relevant organizations and agencies to promote activities providing information to families of fallen soldiers whose information is still unknown.

On this occasion, the Nghe An Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families; 2 collectives and 5 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs for their outstanding achievements in honoring martyrs in 2017.
