Nghe An: Over 27,000 people returning from epidemic areas are being quarantined and monitored.

(Baonghean.vn) - Forecasts indicate that the number of people returning from epidemic areas may increase in the coming period, with the majority being citizens in difficult circumstances and unemployed.

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Document 5976/UBND-NC on strengthening management of citizens returning to Nghe An from areas affected by the epidemic.

As of August 15th, the entire province has 27,071 people who have arrived from/returned from current epidemic areas and are being monitored in quarantine. This includes 13,880 people in centralized quarantine; 5,918 people in home quarantine; and 7,273 people whose health is being monitored at home.

Forecasts indicate that the number of people returning from epidemic areas may increase in the coming period, with the majority being citizens in difficult circumstances and unemployed; furthermore, among those returning from epidemic areas, there may be criminals and wanted fugitives, posing a potential threat to security and order in the area.

According to the official document, in order to proactively ensure security and order in the province, closely manage the number of citizens returning to the locality from epidemic areas; and at the same time, create conditions to support citizens in overcoming difficulties caused by the impact of the epidemic, the Provincial People's Committee requests:

Provincial departments, agencies, and mass organizations; and the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns shall continue to strictly implement regulations on epidemic prevention and control in their respective areas; develop plans and strategies for receiving Nghe An citizens returning from epidemic areas (including those organized by the Provincial People's Committee and those returning spontaneously); strictly control and implement necessary support measures for living conditions and healthcare so that people returning from epidemic areas can confidently carry out isolation and epidemic prevention and control measures.

According to this document, localities need to strengthen their territorial management, keep track of household registrations; manage residency; promptly detect and manage cases of citizens returning to Nghe An and organize disease prevention and control measures for these individuals in accordance with regulations.

In addition, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in coordination with the People's Committees of districts and cities, will review and compile statistics on the number of Nghe An citizens returning from epidemic areas who are in difficult circumstances, unemployed, and in need of support. They will proactively advise on support policies and create conditions for social security.

This document also states that media units, departments, organizations, and localities should proactively carry out communication and propaganda work on the implementation of health declarations on the software system at epidemic control checkpoints and the declaration of movement information on the website:http://suckhoe.dancuquocgia.gov.vn.

In addition, localities need to arrange transportation and personnel to receive citizens returning from epidemic areas and implement epidemic prevention and control measures for these citizens, especially requiring isolation and medical monitoring for those returning from epidemic areas to the community.

This document also requests the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in districts, cities, and towns to direct inter-agency checkpoints (if any) to strengthen control over people and vehicles entering and leaving the province.
