Nghe An: Over 30,000 candidates have submitted applications to register for the 2017 National High School Graduation Examination.

(Baonghean.vn) - By this time, high schools in Nghe An province have basically compiled the list of candidates registered for the 2017 National High School Graduation Examination. The results show that many figures have changed compared to the previous exam.

As of 9:00 AM on April 17th, the Examination and Quality Assurance Department of the Department of Education and Training had compiled a total of 30,165 applications for the exam. Among these, more than 2,000 were independent candidates.

Initial results show that, in addition to the three compulsory subjects (Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language), the remaining two subjects in the Natural Sciences and Social Sciences subject combinations have changed compared to previous years. Notably, the number of candidates registering for the Social Sciences subject combination is higher than last year, accounting for nearly 70% (almost double the number in 2016). Specifically, the number of candidates registering for the Natural Sciences subject combination includes Physics: 12,532 students, Chemistry: 12,660 students, and Biology: 11,853 students. In the Social Sciences subject combination, History has 19,572 students, Geography: 19,317 students, and Civic Education: 18,098 students.

Statistics to date show that 10,502 students registered to take only the high school graduation exam, 17,630 students registered to take both the high school graduation exam and university entrance exams, and 2,033 registered for university entrance exams (mostly independent candidates).

According to a representative from the Examination and Quality Assurance Department, these are projected figures and may change by the end of April 20th. However, among the updated records, a significant number still contain errors. The Department of Education and Training is also regularly instructing schools to re-check candidate information to ensure accuracy.

Furthermore, upon reviewing the booklet "Things to Know About University and College Admissions for Teacher Training Programs in 2017," it was found that some universities and colleges (in the teacher training field) have incorrect information regarding program codes and quotas. Therefore, to avoid errors that could affect admissions rights, the Department requests that examination officials update the information publicly available on the school's website and the Ministry of Education and Training's Admissions Portal at [website address].thituyensinh.vn.

The Department also plans for school delegations to cross-check records to ensure the rights of students are protected during the registration and admission process.
