Nghe An holds press conference to inform about economic, social, defense and security situation in the first 6 months of 2025
On the afternoon of July 14, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a press conference on the economic, social, defense and security situation in the first 6 months of 2025.

The press conference was chaired by comrades: Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Thi My Hanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Attending the press conference were comrades: Hoang Thi Thu Trang - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Justice; Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Tran Minh Ngoc - Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television.
Also attending were leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors; representatives of central and local press agencies in the area and a large number of reporters and journalists.
First report on the situation of promulgation of legal documents
In the first 6 months of the year, the growth rate in Nghe An province is estimated at 8.24%, ranking 12th out of 34 provinces and cities.

The industrial and construction sector played a leading role with an increase of 13.45% (industry alone reached 14.42%), continuing to be the main pillar driving growth. The agricultural, forestry and fishery sector increased by 4.48%; services increased by 6.72%.
Export turnover is estimated at 1.8 billion USD, up 25.1%; retail sales of goods and services are estimated at 87.3 trillion VND, up 14.8%.
State budget revenue reached 13,909 billion VND, equal to 78.5% of the estimate, up 14.7% over the same period, of which domestic revenue accounted for 12,932 billion VND, reaching 80.7% of the estimate.

Investment attraction has achieved positive results. In the first 6 months of the year, the province approved investment policies and granted investment registration certificates to 35 projects and adjusted 98 projects. The total newly granted and increased investment capital was over 15,021 billion VND, of which foreign direct investment capital reached over 292 million USD.

At the press conference, the Nghe An Department of Justice reported for the first time on the issuance of legal documents by the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee. In the first 6 months of the year, the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee issued 46 legal documents (8 resolutions, 38 decisions), an increase of 28 documents compared to the same period in 2024. The documents were developed and issued in accordance with the correct procedures, ensuring feasibility, accessibility and implementation.

Including this content in monthly press conferences demonstrates transparency in legal work, helping the press and people have more information channels to promptly grasp new policies, contributing to improving the effectiveness of law enforcement, strengthening accountability and social supervision of the regulatory activities of local authorities.

At the press conference, journalists asked many questions related to issues of public concern such as: The implementation of the new land price list; the progress of compensation and site clearance for National Highway 1A; the arrangement and assignment of officials in the two-level local government; tourism development; the labor situation in enterprises; the management of mineral exploitation and transportation activities, etc. Leaders of relevant departments and branches directly answered and provided specific information on each content with a spirit of openness and responsibility.

Pay attention to and promote propaganda work, focusing on three key contents.
Concluding the press conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long highly appreciated the role of the press in accompanying the government, not only as a bridge of information between the State and the people, but also as a "locomotive" force reflecting reality and providing information quickly and accurately.
He hoped that the press would continue to deeply participate in the process of giving comments and criticizing policies right from the beginning, especially for legal documents to ensure practicality, suitability and effectiveness in implementation; at the same time, accompany in propagating new policies, mechanisms and strategies of the province, contributing to creating consensus in society, improving the effectiveness of management, administration and serving the people.

Orienting the tasks for the last 6 months of the year, the province identified 11 groups of tasks and key solutions. In particular, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the press agencies to continue to pay attention to and promote propaganda work, focusing on three key contents: Deploying 2-level local government, ensuring smooth, effective and efficient operation; administrative reform, digital transformation and the effectiveness of Project 06.
Comrade Bui Dinh Long also requested to report on Nghe An's implementation of the "four pillars" identified by the Politburo to create development momentum, including: Resolution 57-NQ/TW on science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution 59-NQ/TW on international integration in the new situation; Resolution 66-NQ/TW on innovation in law making and enforcement; and Resolution 68-NQ/TW on private economic development in Nghe An.
