Nghe An holds urgent meeting to respond to Wuhan pneumonia
(Baonghean.vn) - The head of Nghe An's health sector directed medical centers and hospitals to fully prepare human resources, equipment, medicine, and isolation treatment areas to admit and treat patients if suspected cases are detected.
On the morning of January 24, speaking with reporters of Nghe An Newspaper, Associate Professor - Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of Nghe An Department of Health said that the unit had just held an urgent meeting to deploy plans to prevent and combat acute respiratory infections caused by the new strain of Corona Virus.

At the meeting, the Department's leaders heard a quick report on the epidemic situation, the number of infected and dead people in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Especially the latest developments on 2 patients from Wuchang, Wuhan, Hubei, China who came to Hanoi, then stayed in Nha Trang and are currently being treated in isolation at the Tropical Diseases Department, Cho Ray Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City.
Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh requested the Director of the Provincial Center for Disease Control to coordinate with the Department of Health's Medical Affairs Department to immediately consult on an urgent telegram to submit to the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee for approval and the Department of Health to issue a document directing localities and the entire sector to step up the work of preventing and fighting this epidemic.
"Nghe An has the largest area in the country, with an international airport, seaport and land border gate adjacent to Laos, so the risk of disease entering the province is very high," Mr. Chinh said and directed the health sector to closely coordinate with the Customs and Border Guard forces in controlling immigration issues, strengthening border quarantine, monitoring cases with suspected clinical symptoms, detecting the first case, isolating, and promptly treating at the front line to prevent the spread.
