During the meeting, both sides informed each other about the socio-economic development, national defense and security, and social order and safety in the border region over the past period.

In 2017, the two provinces collaborated in many areas, with numerous significant events taking place, particularly in contributing to maintaining security and promoting socio-economic development in border districts and villages.

To promote trade and create favorable conditions for the economic development of the people of the two provinces, the Secretary and Governor of Hua Phan province, Vanxay Phengsuma, expressed his desire to build and upgrade more border roads.

Comrade Vansay Phengsuma also suggested that in the future, Hua Phan province and Nghe An province should continue to have many exchange, interaction, and cooperation activities.

Through this, Secretary Vansay Phengsuma extended an invitation to the leaders of Nghe An province to attend a high-level meeting between the two provinces, aiming to further deepen the long-term cooperative relationship.

On the occasion of the upcoming Vietnamese Lunar New Year, Comrade Van-xay Pheng-su-ma wished the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghe An province a joyful, warm, and healthy Tet holiday, and that they would achieve even more important accomplishments in the new year.

After informing the delegation from Hua Phan province about some outstanding achievements in various fields of Nghe An province in 2017, on behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong thanked the leaders of Hua Phan province for their attention.

Emphasizing the importance of the friendly relationship between Nghe An and Hua Phan, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: "We always strive our best to fulfill our cooperation commitments and cultivate friendship between the two provinces, as well as between the Vietnamese and Lao peoples."

Accepting the invitation from the Secretary and Governor of Hua Phan province to attend the high-level conference between the two provinces, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, Nguyen Xuan Duong, said that he would instruct relevant departments to review the contents of exchanges and cooperation between the two provinces in order to develop a comprehensive cooperation plan for 2018.

On the occasion of the New Year 2018, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province sent New Year wishes for new successes to Hua Phan province and expressed the hope that in the coming time, the two provinces will continue to further strengthen solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation in many fields.
