Nghe An province mobilizes over 300 people to control forest fire in Tan Chau commune.

According to initial information from the Nghe An Forest Protection Department, at approximately 5 PM on August 3rd, a forest fire occurred in Hamlet 2, Tan Chau commune (formerly Dien Phu commune, Dien Chau district).

Immediately after discovering the forest fire in Hamlet 2, Tan Chau Commune, the local authorities mobilized local forces and also called on other communes such as Minh Chau, Duc Chau, and An Chau to fight the fire. The Nghe An Forest Protection Department promptly mobilized forces from the Do Luong Forest Protection Units and mobile forest protection teams to implement a fire suppression plan. The local authorities of Tan Chau Commune also quickly got involved, coordinating closely with the relevant agencies.

In total, more than 300 people were mobilized to fight the fire, including forest rangers, commune police, militia, community teams, and local residents. The forces were divided into different teams, approaching the scene from multiple directions to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring forest areas.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Minh, Head of the Forest Protection and Nature Conservation Management Department (Nghe An Provincial Forest Protection Department), said that in accessible areas, functional forces quickly cordoned off the area and opened firebreaks to prevent the fire from spreading. Thanks to the timely implementation of response measures, the fire has now been basically brought under control.

However, due to the rugged terrain of the fire area, mainly high mountains, combined with strong winds and darkness, extinguishing the fire has been quite difficult. Currently, forces are continuing to create firebreaks in areas at risk of spreading, and have assigned personnel to be on duty 24/7 to monitor, handle embers, and prevent the forest fire from spreading to other areas.
