That is Decision No. 2405/QD-BVHTTDL on the ranking of national relics, signed by Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien on July 7, 2016.

The Le Dynasty Canal is located in the districts of Hung Nguyen and Nghi Loc, and was dug by King Le Dai Hanh starting in 983. It is an important waterway connecting the provinces of Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh.

During the war against the US, the Le Dynasty canal became an effective waterway for transporting goods, weapons, etc., through key areas targeted by attacks in Central Vietnam. It was considered the "Ho Chi Minh Trail on the river," making a significant contribution to the cause of fighting against the US and saving the country.
