Nghe An province admitted over 5,000 new party members in 2023.
(Baonghean.vn) - In 2023, the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee admitted 5,097 new party members, achieving 120% of the target set by the 19th Party Congress (an average of 4,500 - 5,000 new party members annually); an increase of 1,099 party members compared to 2022.
Nghe An province has also established 15 more Party branches in private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises.
To achieve these results, over the past year, the Provincial Party Standing Committee has consistently and decisively led and directed the work of developing new Party members and building Party organizations.
On January 13, 2023, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee issued Document No. 1657 - CV/TU to assign targets for admitting new Party members in 2023 to district Party committees, city Party committees, town Party committees, and directly affiliated Party committees.
Based on that, Party committees at all levels have developed specific action programs and plans and assigned tasks to each grassroots Party organization.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee directed the Provincial Party Organization Department to include the results of party member development as a criterion for evaluating and ranking the annual quality of party organizations and their leaders.
Simultaneously, a meeting was held of the Steering Committee for Project No. 01 on building Party branches and developing Party members in hamlets and villages without Party branches or members, and in hamlets and villages at risk of no longer having Party branches, and Project No. 5155 on developing Party members and Party organizations in private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises in Nghe An province, to evaluate the two-year implementation of Conclusions No. 95 and No. 189-KL/TU and propose solutions for implementing the two projects.
In addition, regularly urge and require district Party committees, city Party committees, town Party committees, and subordinate Party committees to develop appropriate and creative solutions to fulfill the assigned targets for admitting new Party members.
Many new models and effective methods for developing party members and building grassroots party organizations have been reviewed and replicated.
In 2023, 11 out of 28 Party committees directly under the Provincial Party Committee met or exceeded the membership recruitment targets assigned by the province, including the districts of: Quy Chau, Hoang Mai, Thai Hoa, Nghi Loc, Quy Hop, Tuong Duong, Nghia Dan, Yen Thanh and the units: Provincial Military Command, Vinh University of Technology and Education, and Vinh University.
Currently, the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee has nearly 200,000 party members.
