Nghe An opens the 2023 'Folk Song Singing in Schools' Contest

On the evening of May 27, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee organized the "Singing" contest.folk songsin schools" 5th time - 2023.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Khoa once again affirmed the great value of Vi and Giam folk songs when they were recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

To promote the value of Vi and Giam folk songs, in recent years, Nghe An Education Department has also brought folk music into schools to propagate and educate love, pride and awareness of preserving and conserving the nation's folk cultural heritage.

In addition, the Department of Education and Training has also coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports and other departments and branches to organize many competitions to learn and sing folk songs in schools, and teach folk songs on television...

These activities have brought Nghe Tinh folk songs closer to students, created a joyful atmosphere in schools, and contributed to comprehensive education for students.

In particular, to continue to maintain the movement of learning and singing folk songs in schools, to discover and nurture folk singing talents for the homeland and country, for many years, Nghe An has maintained and organized the "Folk Song Singing in Schools" Contest.

Through the contest, we aim to contribute to preserving, conserving, introducing, promoting and developing the cultural values, typical of Nghe An and folk songs of regions.

This is also an opportunity to evaluate the folk song singing movement in schools of educational institutions in the province, from which to find solutions to promote the folk song singing movement in schools, which has educational significance for the young generation of the province.

The contest is an opportunity for teachers and students to exchange and learn, and at the same time, promote the movement "Building friendly schools, active students" in schools across the province.

Before the 5th "Folk Song Singing in Schools" Contest of Nghe An province was officially opened, from the beginning of April, the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns also directed the Departments of Education and Training, high schools, centers of Continuing Education, Vocational Education - Continuing Education to organize the contest from school to district level.

Through the district-level competition, many folk song performances and talents were discovered in schools, and at the same time, it was the basis for districts to select and introduce the best performances to compete at the provincial level.

The 5th "Folk Songs in Schools" Contest - 2023 will take place in 3 days, from May 27 to 29 with the participation of 21 teams from 21 districts, cities and towns. The best performances will be selected to perform at the closing ceremony and award ceremony on the evening of May 29.

On the opening night, there were competitions between teams from Thanh Chuong, Nghi Loc, Nghia Dan and Nam Dan districts.
