Nghe An: Checking transportation activities to serve passengers during Tet
(Baonghean.vn) - The Provincial Steering Committee for Transport for the Lunar New Year 2020 requested bus stations to prepare plans to ensure vehicles and human resources to facilitate and ensure safety for passengers traveling before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2020.
On the afternoon of January 16, the Steering Committee for Transport during the Lunar New Year 2020 inspected bus stations to grasp the operation situation of means of transport during the Lunar New Year 2020.
Through direct inspection at Bac Vinh bus station, Eastern bus station and Central bus station, it was found that the stations have posted ticket prices, bus numbers, hotlines, and intra-provincial and inter-provincial bus routes.
Bus stations have implemented cleaning, security, and fire prevention; signed contracts with businesses to be ready to arrange vehicles when passenger traffic suddenly increases; and regularly checked vehicles and drivers.

The inspection team recommended that bus stations should increase inspection of vehicles and human resources before departure, prevent drivers from using alcohol or stimulants while driving, and avoid drivers working overtime or in poor health conditions.
The stations need to coordinate closely with functional forces such as the Provincial Police, Local Police, Department of Transport Inspectorate... to maintain order and security in the bus station area; arrange enough staff to serve during peak times.

Strictly inspect and control vehicles entering and leaving the station to register to pick up and drop off passengers, check the quality of vehicles, drivers, goods and luggage according to regulations, and promptly prevent vehicles carrying overloads, flammable and explosive goods and prohibited goods.
The inspection team also noted that bus stations need to base on passenger traffic to deploy ticket sales and organize vehicle and passenger arrangement in a reasonable and fair manner.

Bus stations need to have backup plans for vehicles to mobilize, so that no one misses the bus during Tet.
