Nghe An: Signing of cooperation agreement to build high-tech fruit processing plant linked to raw material area development.
With construction of the factory scheduled to begin in September 2026, the project promises to "awaken" the potential of Nghe An's pineapple and sweet corn growing areas, opening up opportunities for sustainable consumption and increasing the value of the province's agricultural products.
On January 20th, in Tam Diep city (Ninh Binh province), Nghe An province and Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company (DOVECO) held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in investing in and building a high-tech fruit processing plant linked to the development of raw material areas in Nghe An province.
Attending the signing ceremony, on behalf of Nghe An province were: Mr. Nguyen Van De - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Vo Thi Nhung - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment. Mr. Dinh Cao Khue - Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company, represented the enterprise.
Establishing a sustainable agricultural value chain.
According to the signed agreement, the two parties agreed to cooperate in submitting to the competent authorities a proposal for the investment and construction of a large-scale fruit processing plant, applying state-of-the-art technology in Nghe An province. The project aims to increase added value and ensure stable outlets for the province's key agricultural products, especially fruits and vegetables.

At the meeting, Ms. Vo Thi Nhung, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, affirmed that Nghe An has enormous potential in terms of land area and specialty fruit varieties; however, deep processing remains a "bottleneck." Cooperation with a leading enterprise in the field of agricultural product export like Dong Giao is a strategic step to realize Resolution 34/2025/NQ-HĐND of the Provincial People's Council on supporting the development of pineapple raw material areas and policies to attract investment in agriculture and rural areas.

Commitment to a decisive implementation roadmap.
In the memorandum of understanding, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Nghe An province committed to completing the survey and site selection for the factory (approximately 10 hectares) by February 2026. Simultaneously, the provincial agricultural sector will closely cooperate with the enterprise to develop and expand the raw material area according to a specific roadmap from now until 2030; focusing on directing production and raw material procurement to ensure a stable supply for the factory's operation. Specifically: 1,000 hectares of pineapple are expected to be planted in 2026, 2,000 hectares in 2027, and 5,000 hectares by 2030; along with 1,000 hectares of sweet corn and 1,000 hectares of other fruits and vegetables.

On behalf of Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company, Mr. Dinh Cao Khue committed to focusing resources on completing the legal procedures to start construction of the factory in September 2026. The company affirmed that it will invest in modern technology lines, sign contracts, and guarantee the purchase of 100% of the products from farmers in the linked area. In addition, Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company will provide support policies regarding seeds, fertilizers, and techniques for organizations and individuals participating in pineapple cultivation.
This signing ceremony marks a significant milestone in Nghe An's efforts to restructure its agricultural economy. The establishment of an on-site fruit processing plant will not only help farmers escape the problem of "bumper harvests leading to falling prices" but also contribute to building a competitive brand for Nghe An agricultural products in the international market.
Comrade Nguyen Van De - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province.
