Dr. Tran Tien, Director of Dien Chau General Hospital, said:This baby is the second child of Ms. Ngo Thi Phuong (born in 1984, residing in Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district).
"Pregnant woman Ngo Thi Phuong was admitted to the hospital at 5:30 PM on March 15th in labor. After examination, the doctors in the Obstetrics Department discovered that the fetus was too large, so they decided to perform a cesarean section to ensure the safety of both mother and child," Dr. Tien added.
At 3 PM on March 16th, pregnant woman Ngo Thi Phuong was taken to the operating room. The surgical team successfully delivered the baby, who weighed 6 kg. The baby's health was completely normal at birth.
According to Dr. Tran Tien, tests showed no signs of illness in the mother, as mothers with diabetes often give birth to babies with abnormally high birth weights. The baby's health is currently stable, but it is still being monitored due to its unusually high weight.
In her first pregnancy, Ms. Ngo Thi Phuong also gave birth to a baby boy weighing over 4kg.
