Nghe An commemorates the 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's first visit to his hometown.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of June 14th, at Ho Chi Minh Square in Vinh City, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province organized a ceremony to commemorate the 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's first visit to his hometown (June 14, 1957 - June 14, 2017).

The 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's first visit to his hometown (June 14, 1957 - June 14, 2017) is an event of paramount importance, an opportunity for the Party Committee and people of all ethnic groups in Nghe An province to report their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh and to resolutely fulfill his teachings: "Build our province into one of the most prosperous provinces in the North."
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Pham Minh Chinh - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Organization Department; Phan Dinh Trac - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Department; and Deputy Chiefs of the Central Party Office: Tran Van Thanh and Bui Van Thach. Representing Military Region 4 was Lieutenant General Vo Van Viet – Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Military Region. Former members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam were present: Nguyen Ba - former Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; Le Doan Hop - former Minister of Information and Communications, former Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen The Trung - former Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization, former Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; and representatives from the leadership of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces. Representing Nghe An province were: Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of provincial departments and agencies; and a large number of local people. |
Expressing profound respect and boundless gratitude for his immense contributions, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh delivered the opening speech at the commemoration ceremony, affirming: "The Party Committee and people of Nghe An province pledge to him, to the Party and the State, and to our compatriots and comrades nationwide: we will continue to promote the spirit of unity and innovation, and resolutely strive to make our homeland of Nghe An increasingly strong and prosperous."
On behalf of the Party and State leaders attending the ceremony, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Organization Department - warmly welcomed and congratulated the province on its achievements; and shared his sympathy for the difficulties, complexities, and challenges faced by the comrades and people of Nghe An province.
Confident that with its glorious history and traditions, Nghe An province will continue to excellently fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Party, State, and people, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh respectfully requested the Party Committee, government, military, and people of all ethnic groups in Nghe An province to continue to effectively implement the six key tasks in the coming period.
Immediately following the opening ceremony was the comprehensive art program "Homeland's Echoes of Our People," performed by 200 artists and actors.

The program combines theatrical forms of expression, including representative songs written about President Ho Chi Minh and his homeland, comprising four segments.
Section 1 is themed: Remembering Uncle Ho from Lang Sen Village.
Section 2, themed "Following in the Footsteps of the Great Leader," briefly introduces the life and activities of President Ho Chi Minh during the period 1911-1941, from the time he left his homeland to seek a path to national salvation until his return to Vietnam.
Section 3, themed "Homeland, Deep Affection and Loyalty," recreates the image of President Ho Chi Minh's first visit to his hometown on June 14, 1957, expressing the feelings of the homeland towards President Ho Chi Minh and President Ho Chi Minh towards his homeland.
Section 4 is themed: Nghe An follows Uncle Ho's teachings, highlighting the renewal process of Nghe An province. Following his guidance, the Party Committee and people of the province have continuously strived to build a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Nghe An.

The art program, which celebrated the immense contributions, radiant morality, and sacred affection of President Ho Chi Minh in the hearts of the people nationwide and in his hometown of Nghe An, featured prominently the folk songs of the Vi Giam style, leaving a lasting emotional impact on the audience.
