Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 2, on the afternoon of July 3, Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, inspected and surveyed a high-risk landslide site in Ky Son.

Also attending were representatives of the Branches and leaders of Ky Son district.

In Muong Tip commune, the delegation went on a field trip to Vang Pao and Na Mi villages (Muong Tip commune) and Xop Phong village (Muong Ai commune), about 60 km from Muong Xen town. These are places with residential areas and schools next to streams, with cracked mountains above, so there is a high risk of landslides and huge damage if heavy rains and floods occur.

Specifically, according to a survey by Ky Son district, Van Pao village has 63 households, Na Mi village has 58 households and Xop Phong village has 28 households, when there is prolonged rain, they must evacuate to ensure safety. Currently, the People's Committee of Ky Son district has developed a plan to relocate and resettle the above areas and submitted it to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, but due to the large budget (about 18 billion VND), it cannot be implemented yet.

Based on the discussion and understanding of the situation at the scene, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Nghia Hieu emphasized that these are newly emerged landslides and the affected people are large, the cost is high, so he requested Ky Son district to urgently and carefully survey, have a plan, and a convincing basis to submit to the Central Government together with the province.

Also during the working trip, the working delegation of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province also inspected the actual situation of African swine fever prevention in the communes of Chieu Luu, Ta Ca and Muong Tip.

In the immediate future, to ensure people's safety, it is necessary to have a proactive plan to evacuate to a safe place; while waiting for the resettlement project to be implemented, it is necessary to arrange forces to regularly warn people...
