Nghe An province selects a unit to explore for sand and gravel in two areas without a bidding process.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province has just announced the results of the selection of an organization to be considered for granting a mineral exploration license in the area where mineral exploitation rights are not subject to auction. Accordingly, An Phu Khang Mining Company Limited has been selected to complete the application dossier in accordance with regulations.
On July 14th, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Notice No. 642/TB-UBND announcing the results of the selection of organizations to be considered for granting mineral exploration licenses in areas where mineral exploitation rights are not subject to auction in the province.
According to the announcement, An Phu Khang Mining Company Limited has been selected to complete the application dossier, which will serve as the basis for considering the issuance of a mineral exploration license.
The minerals being explored are sand and gravel for common construction materials (Group III) in two areas:
- Sand and gravel mine in the Nam Viet River area, Tien Phong commune, proposed area for exploration4.78 hectares.
- Sand and gravel mine in the Nam Giai River area, Que Phong commune, proposed area for exploration7.43 hectares.
The mineral resources extracted from these areas are identified as providing raw materials for the investment project to build a boarding school for primary and secondary levels in the communes of Que Phong, Tri Le, Thong Thu, and Tien Phong.
After meeting the project's material needs, any remaining suitable mineral resources will be prioritized for supply to key projects and public investment projects in the communes and surrounding areas, in accordance with the province's policy and legal regulations; this does not apply to areas where sand and gravel mining licenses have already been granted.
The Provincial People's Committee assigns the Department of Agriculture and Environment full responsibility for the content of the consultation, dossiers, procedures, and processes; guiding businesses in completing their dossiers; reviewing the conditions according to regulations to advise the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on considering the granting of mineral exploration licenses. At the same time, it is responsible for monitoring the implementation process, ensuring that it is in accordance with the purpose, policy, and legal regulations.
Regarding An Phu Khang Mining Company Limited, the Provincial People's Committee requires coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and other relevant agencies to complete the dossier in accordance with regulations. The enterprise is only allowed to carry out exploration activities after being granted a Mineral Exploration License by the competent authority.
