(Baonghean.vn) - The purpose of this strict ban is to create conditions for students to have time to rest, play, and participate in activities for holistic development.

The Department of Education and Training has issued a document strictly prohibiting extra tutoring and supplementary classes during the summer break.

Accordingly,Department of Education and TrainingOrganizations and individuals are strictly prohibited from organizing extra classes or tutoring inside and outside schools in any form during the summer break (except for organizing review sessions for 12th-grade students and training gifted students to participate in national and international competitions).

To ensure proper and serious implementation, the Department also requested that school principals disseminate and thoroughly explain this policy to teachers, students, and parents. Specifically, teachers should sign a commitment with the school pledging not to organize extra classes or tutoring inside or outside the school in any form during the summer break.

At the same time, strengthen management, promptly detect, handle, and recommend disciplinary action within the scope of authority against teachers who violate regulations.

The Department also requested that education and training departments direct schools to strictly implement the above requirements. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen inspection, recommendations, and strict handling of organizations and individuals who violate the regulations. It is also necessary to advise the People's Committee of the district (city, town) to direct local authorities to regularly review, gather information, and promptly report on extracurricular tutoring outside of school in their area for timely action.

For students with weak academic performance, the school principal is responsible for developing a plan for academic review, tutoring, and allocating appropriate time to organize exams and determine promotion to the next grade for students who need to retake exams or those who require remedial training during the summer.

The ban on extra tutoring aims to provide students with time to rest, play, and participate in activities for holistic development and to ensure their health, especially given the hot weather and the ongoing complexities of the pandemic. During the summer break, the Department encourages schools to allow students to use the school's facilities such as libraries, gymnasiums, sports fields, and swimming pools for revision, reading, research, exercise, and recreation.

The Department of Education and Training will strengthen its inspection and surprise checks and strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate regulations. In addition, any information regarding tutoring and supplementary classes can be reported via the hotlines 0983 565267 and 0979788769.

Regarding this issue, at a recent conference of foreign language, life skills, and extracurricular centers, several delegates expressed their opinions on organizing supplementary classes both inside and outside of schools during the summer.

Notably, some primary schools in Hoang Mai town still organize summer classes for students in the form of supplementary teaching or teaching subjects like Math and Vietnamese.

Following the feedback, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Khoa requested the Education and Training Department of Hoang Mai town to investigate and promptly rectify any violations.
