Nghe An province is studying the possibility of opening a direct flight route to China.

(Baonghean.vn) - During a courtesy meeting with the Chinese Ambassador on the morning of April 7th, the Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh stated that Nghe An province is studying the possibility of opening direct flights to several locations in China.

In his welcoming remarks to the delegation, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh emphasized that Vietnam and China are two neighboring countries with a long-standing traditional friendship.

The friendship between the two countries, meticulously nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong, along with many generations of senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries, has become a precious asset of the two nations.

The Party, State, and people of Vietnam consider consolidating and strengthening the friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China as one of their top priorities.

On the part of Nghe An province, the Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that the province always attaches importance to strengthening relations with localities and partners in China: “Since 2002, Nghe An has established friendly relations with Hunan province. Since 2010, Nghe An has established friendly relations with Guangxi province. We truly hope to continue developing good relations with localities in China.”

He also stated that Nghe An province is studying the design of direct flights to China to meet the needs of tourists and businesses in both countries.

Furthermore, the head of Nghe An province also expressed his hope that the Chinese Embassy would introduce Chinese businesses and investors to survey and explore the possibility of investment cooperation in Nghe An, especially in the fields of high-tech industrial development, clean agriculture, application of high technology in production to produce products that are good for consumers' health, infrastructure investment, etc.

Thanking the leaders of Nghe An province for providing a comprehensive overview of the province's development and the cooperation between Nghe An and localities in China, Ambassador Hong Xiaoyong expressed his joy and excitement at visiting Nghe An province.

“Those of us who grew up hearing many stories about President Ho Chi Minh have a special affection for Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh. This visit has realized my long-held wish to visit the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh – the great leader of the Vietnamese people, a close friend of the Chinese people,” Ambassador Hong Xiaoyong said.

He also stated that the purpose of this visit was to help maintain and further strengthen the friendly cooperative relationship between the Chinese Embassy and Nghe An province. Nghe An province has always had a close relationship with the Chinese Embassy; however, in light of the new situation, the ambassador suggested that a new step should be taken in the relationship between the province and the Embassy, ​​thereby contributing to further strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two countries.

Responding to the proposals from Nghe An province, the Chinese Ambassador affirmed his readiness to act as a bridge to further strengthen cooperative relations between Nghe An and provinces and businesses in China.

Earlier that morning, the delegation held a memorial ceremony at the Martyrs' Cemetery in Nam Giang commune, Nam Dan district. This is also the resting place of several Chinese volunteer soldiers who died in 1972 at Hon Ngu (Cua Lo) on the Hong Ky ship carrying food aid to Vietnam during the war against the US.
