Crocodiles, scientifically known as Crocodilia, belong to the order of aquatic reptiles. Most species range in length from 2-5 meters, with some reaching 6 meters (older males). The crocodile's body is elongated, with a flattened head and a long snout; its teeth are conical and curved inwards; its tail is very strong, flattened laterally like a paddle; its legs are short and thick, with webbing between the toes, and the tips of the toes have horny claws to prevent slipping when moving on land. The eyes are located very high on the top of the snout, and the nostrils and ears have valves that block water, facilitating swimming underwater. The tongue is thick and immobile. The entire body is covered by a thick layer of skin. Beneath the dorsal skin are thick plates forming a protective armor, and the upper back and tail have raised horny scales.
