This year's National Day holiday on September 2nd lasts for four days, and it's also a time when retailers, supermarkets, and businesses in Nghe An province launch many attractive promotional programs to stimulate shopping. Beyond the economic aspect, these activities also contribute to spreading national pride, making National Day more meaningful and fostering community bonding through each shopping experience.

From the end of August, the bustling atmosphere of the promotional season could be easily seen on many streets in Ho Tung Mau, Nguyen Van Cu, Le Hong Phong, etc. In front of fashion stores and supermarkets, bright red advertising signs celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day were prominently displayed to attract customers' attention. The diverse promotional programs were designed to suit various customer groups, ranging from fashion, food, and household goods to books, gifts, and dining services.

At a fashion store on Le Hong Phong Street, the "shocking" promotions offering thousands of products at a flat price of 29,000 - 149,000 VND have attracted particular attention from customers.

Ms. Duong Anh Dao, a store employee, shared: “This year, the system has offered many great promotional packages, such as buying the second product for only 2,000 VND or 9,000 VND, or discounts of 30-50% on all products. These programs help consumers easily choose products at prices that suit their budget. As a result, the number of customers visiting during peak days has doubled compared to normal days.”

Not only major brands, but many local fashion stores on Nguyen Van Cu Street are also running a "Patriotic Fashion" campaign, offering a 20% discount when buying 2 items and a 30% discount when buying 3 or more items. T-shirts printed with the red flag and yellow star, and the slogan "Vietnam - Independence - Freedom - Happiness" have become popular choices, being both fashionable and expressing national pride during the holiday.

At major supermarkets in the area, the shopping atmosphere has been bustling since the first day of the holiday. Mr. Nham Sy Thanh, a representative of a supermarket in Vinh, said: “From August 22nd to September 4th, we are running the program “Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of National Day September 2nd – Proud of Vietnam” with many promotions such as discounts up to 45% on Vietnamese specialties, a buy 2 get 1 free program, and a series of accompanying gifts. The goal is not only to sell goods but also to contribute to stimulating consumer demand and bringing high-quality Vietnamese goods closer to customers.”

Other supermarkets also simultaneously reduced prices by up to 50% on many essential items such as food, milk, beverages, and household goods. The program also honored long-standing Vietnamese brands while offering similar deals on imported products. As a result, customers have more diverse choices, from everyday consumer goods to high-end products.

Besides fashion stores and supermarkets, bookstores in the area are also having a big promotional season, both to celebrate the holiday and to meet the shopping demand for the new school year. Discounts of 20-50%, gifts with textbook or school supply purchases, and even lucky draws are being offered, helping families save money on preparing their children for school.

To add a festive touch, many businesses have invested in vibrant decorations featuring the Vietnamese flag, creating eye-catching shopping spaces. The festive atmosphere has spread to the food and beverage sector as well. At some cafes, customers can easily spot images of the national flag on cups and bowls, or in photo spots related to National Day.

Ms. Ho Thi My Dung, owner of a tea shop on Ha Huy Tap Street, said: "Decorating the shop with a September 2nd theme is not only to create a cheerful atmosphere but also a way to attract customers to enjoy the tea and create beautiful memories."

A notable trend this shopping season is the emphasis on digital marketing by retailers. Besides signage and flyers, many stores are aggressively promoting their products and services through platforms like Facebook and Zalo, allowing promotions to quickly reach a wide range of customers, especially young people who are accustomed to online shopping.

According to observations, in the early days of the holiday, the number of customers visiting supermarkets, shopping malls, and stores increased significantly. People took advantage of the opportunity to shop not only for daily needs but also to stock up on food and household goods at discounted prices. Retail businesses expect a strong increase in consumer spending during this four-day holiday, contributing to achieving revenue targets and boosting consumer growth.

However, experts also advise consumers to be vigilant, carefully choose products, and avoid buying based on herd mentality or being attracted by huge discounts while forgetting about the quality and origin of goods. Many promotional programs, although attractive, can pose a risk of substandard goods infiltrating the market if not strictly controlled.
