Mr. Truong Nhu Hung said: “Since the beginning of the year, due to the impact of the pandemic, the market for grilled mackerel has been affected to some extent, forcing us to reduce the workforce. Now, with increased orders for Tet (Lunar New Year), we have to hire more workers, paying them on a daily or hourly basis. Currently, the facility has 8 seasonal workers with salaries ranging from 200,000 to 450,000 VND per person per day, depending on the specific job.”
Items such as battered and fried shrimp, shrimp skewers, squid patties, and seafood spring rolls are also in high demand during the year-end season. Besides supplying restaurants and hotels for weddings, celebrations, and year-end parties, these items are also popular choices for people to enjoy at home during the year-end festivities, as gifts, and for Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations. Therefore, it is projected that consumption will triple in the last two months of the year compared to normal days. To ensure a sufficient supply for the market, in addition to stocking raw materials, the Son Huyen seafood processing facility (Nghi Hai, Cua Lo Town) has to hire 15 additional seasonal workers for preliminary processing and processing.

To supply nearly 10 tons of mushrooms to the market for Tet (Lunar New Year), the Hoa Son clean mushroom production facility in Linh Son (Anh Son district) has to cultivate 60,000 bags of mushroom spawn. All stages of mushroom cultivation require additional labor, even night shifts, to meet production deadlines. Ms. Le Thi Hoa, the owner of the mushroom production facility, said: “Normally, we have 10 regular workers. Now, in addition to caring for and harvesting mushrooms for the market daily, we are focusing our efforts on producing for Tet, so we have to hire an additional 5-7 people and work overtime at night. Wages are paid hourly or per product. On average, it's 200,000 - 250,000 VND per person per day.”
According to business owners, this year therecruitment of seasonal workersFinding work is easier than in previous years because many workers from other areas have returned to their hometowns to avoid the pandemic. In addition, other business and service sectors remain "frozen," resulting in a significant surplus of labor. However, wages have not decreased but have increased slightly, with seasonal workers earning between 200,000 and 500,000 VND per day per person (depending on the job).

According to warnings from relevant authorities, at this time, taking advantage of the high demand for jobs among many workers, social media platforms and job placement centers are offering "easy jobs with high salaries" to trick workers into falling into traps: paying brokerage fees, pledging documents, or even requiring deposits to secure employment... Therefore, workers need to thoroughly research job information and only seek jobs through reputable and official channels to avoid losing money and suffering harm.
