Nghe An strives to overcome the consequences of flash floods.
In the western districts of Nghe An province, heavy rains caused rising floodwaters that swept away and buried houses and property. Local forces, including commune and village officials and border guard posts, worked tirelessly through the night to help people overcome the consequences.
On the morning of May 30th, Mr. Lu Van Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tri Le commune, Que Phong district, stated, "From last night to this morning, heavy rain accompanied by rising floodwaters swept through the commune, causing severe damage to many households, crops, houses, and livestock. The most affected area is Lam Hop village. Commune and village officials, along with border guards, police, and military forces, are working with the people to clean up and mitigate the consequences."

According to preliminary statistics, the floods caused severe damage to the homes and property of 5 households in Lam Hop village; 1 household in Pa Khom village is currently isolated due to landslides. In addition, many areas of crops, trees, livestock, and roads in Lam Hop village were also severely damaged.

From the night of May 29th, police, military, and the Tri Le Border Guard Post dispatched officers and soldiers to the flood-affected areas to warn residents and help them prevent damage. On the morning of May 30th, these forces continued to work with residents to clear fallen trees, clean up houses, and reopen roads blocked by landslides, fallen trees, and washed-away materials. Some inter-village roads are temporarily closed. Simultaneously, forces are also working to clear the road to Pa Khom village to help households that are temporarily isolated.

Due to the heavy rain and flash floods, the villages in Nhon Mai commune also suffered severe damage. National Highway 16 leading to Nhon Mai commune was severely affected by landslides, completely cutting off traffic. Many residential areas are inaccessible due to landslides, making it impossible to assess the extent of the damage.

At Huu Khuong Primary and Secondary School, the flooding also affected many classrooms and belongings, sweeping away and submerging them. Currently, students are on holiday, and teachers, along with local authorities and armed forces, are cleaning up and moving belongings to higher, safer ground.
The Provincial Border Guard Command reported that immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the Tri Le Border Guard Station deployed 15 officers and soldiers to critical areas to help people overcome the consequences and assist in relocating people and property to safe places. Meanwhile, in the Nhon Mai Border Guard Station area, heavy rain on the night of May 29th also caused flash floods. According to a quick report, there were no casualties, however, one three-room house belonging to a local resident was swept away by the flood, and many areas of crops and rice fields were submerged.

National Highway 16, passing through Xoi Voi and Tham Tham villages, has suffered serious landslides, making it impassable for cars and motorbikes. The Nhon Mai Border Guard Post has deployed 25 officers and soldiers to the area, coordinating with local authorities to help residents overcome the consequences, inspect, assess, and compile statistics on the damage, and implement measures to ensure the safety of the people.
Similarly, in Ky Son district, local forces immediately swung into action overnight to help people in areas affected by floods and landslides, ensuring their safety and minimizing damage to property.

In My Ly commune (Ky Son district), the commune's People's Committee leaders reported that heavy and prolonged rain from the night of May 29th to the morning of May 30th caused landslides in some houses in Hoa Ly and Pieng Vai villages, with soil and rocks flowing into the houses. On the morning of May 30th, 2025, the Party Committee and the People's Committee of My Ly commune mobilized commune officials, the My Ly commune police, along with mobile militia forces, local militia, and the My Ly Border Guard Post to help the people overcome the consequences.

Specifically, Mr. Cu Ba Song's house in Pieng Vai village was severely damaged, and rescue forces are working with manpower to repair it. In Keng Du commune, Mr. Xong Ba Dai's house in Huoi Le village was also affected and damaged, making it uninhabitable. In Huoi Tu commune, the most severely affected household is that of Mr. Xong Nhia Dai in Huoi Le village, where a landslide from above buried his house, causing over 80% damage.

In Dinh Son 1 village, Huu Kiem commune, a pedestrian bridge was washed away, affecting 7 households and isolating 37 people. In Bao Thang commune, water levels in streams and creeks have risen, and many sections of roads are at risk of major landslides.
In Chieu Luu commune, traffic from the commune to the district center is temporarily isolated due to high water levels at spillways in La Ngan, Xieng Thu, and Xop Thap villages. The bypass road around Na Loi village has also suffered serious landslides. The Khe Tam bridge leading to Dooc May and Keng Du communes is also dangerous due to high water levels.
In the communes of Ky Son district, there has also been significant damage caused by the floods. Local authorities have mobilized the "four on-the-spot" forces along with the people to work day and night to mitigate the consequences, temporarily closing some roads due to the risk of further landslides.
