Tourism recovers after Covid-19 pandemic

According to the Steering Committee's report, in 2022, activitiestourismin the province has gradually recovered and received positive signals. Nghe An officially reopened tourism activities and welcomed international visitors from March 15, 2022 after more than two years of interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2022, the whole province welcomed and served 6,730,000 tourists; tourism revenue reached 5,602 billion VND (187% of the plan). In the first 2 months of 2023, the whole province welcomed and served 1,300,000 arrivals, of which 800,000 were overnight guests. Total revenue from tourists reached 2,653 billion VND, of which tourism revenue is estimated at 1,005 billion VND.

In 2022, the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee will focus on directing and implementing the following contents: Promoting the dissemination and propaganda of Resolution 08-NQ/TW dated January 16, 2017 of the Politburo on developing tourism into an industry.spearhead economyand policies and guidelines on tourism development of the Central and the province; programs, projects and plans to implement Resolution 08-NQ/TW.

Resolutely direct the implementation of tourism development tasks in 2022 according to the plan of the Provincial People's Committee: Develop planning, plans and direct the implementation of socio-economic development tasks; promote the work of advertising, promoting, and linking tourism development; strengthen state management; improve the business environment, support enterprises.

In addition to the achieved results, the direction work still has some limitations such as the slow progress of implementing some key tourism projects; the quality of services in accommodation establishments shows signs of decline; although tourism products have improved, they have not created a breakthrough, and have not had a strong attraction for tourists from other provinces; the shortage of human resources continues to occur; the recovery speed of international tourists is still slow.

Form some really compelling products

Regarding the direction for 2023, the Steering Committee determined to continue to effectively implement Action Program No. 55-CTr/TU of the Provincial Party Standing Committee to implement Resolution 08-NQ/TW of the Politburo on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector in conjunction with the Party's guidelines and resolutions, and the State's policies and laws on tourism.

Coordinate, urge and speed up the progress of key investment projects in tourist areas and spots; strengthen the quality management of tourist sites.producttourism, services; building a safe, civilized, friendly tourism environment to enhance the value of tourism products, attract and increase tourist spending. Strive for the whole province to welcome and serve 7.940 million tourists; tourism service revenue reaches 7,470 billion VND.
