(Baonghean)With the motto "electricity leads the way," the Nghe An Power Sector has contributed to the restructuring of industries, economic recovery and growth, and has been a driving force in production, enhancing competitiveness, and attracting investment in the province.

According to preliminary statistics, to date, there are 1,068 projects by economic groups and enterprises investing in Nghe An province with a total capital of 347,673 billion VND. In the three years from 2014 to 2016 alone, 300 projects were granted investment licenses with a registered capital of 148,834 billion VND.

To ensure electricity supply for major projects, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) has invested in the construction of important power generation and transmission infrastructure in Nghe An province, such as the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant (320 MW capacity). In addition, EVN has completed the investment in the 220 kV Thanh Hoa - Vinh transmission line, the 220 kV Do Luong substation, and upgraded the capacity of the 220 kV Hung Dong substation... meeting the electricity needs for production and daily life of the people, gradually improving the quality of electricity and enabling people in rural and mountainous areas to enjoy electricity prices regulated by the State. As of now, 98.51% of households in Nghe An have access to electricity.

According to Mr. Duong Quang Thanh, Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), in the period 2014-2016, EVN invested 207 billion VND to provide rural electricity from the national grid to Nghe An province. It is expected that in the period 2016-2020, EVN will continue to invest over 570 billion VND to bring electricity to villages, hamlets, and households in the province that currently lack electricity. Accordingly, EVN has also assigned the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) and Nghe An Power Company to allocate and arrange appropriate capital to implement these projects.

Currently, the power sector is accelerating the progress of power projects in Nghe An province, such as: Completing the investment in the 110 kV power line and 110 kV substation to supply electricity to the VSIP Nghe An Industrial, Urban and Service Zone in Q4/2017; WHA Hemaraj Industrial Park (Southeast Economic Zone); Investing in a 110 kV power line to supply electricity to Hoa Sen Steel Factory in Dong Hoi Industrial Park; The 110 kV power line project supplying electricity to the Song Lam Cement Grinding Plant Project in Nghi Thiet commune was completed and energized in March 2017; The 110 kV power line and 110 kV Bac A substation project was completed in June 2017...

Mr. Thieu Kim Quynh, Chairman and Director of the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), stated: Recognizing that the power sector must always be one step ahead, anticipating and "rolling out the red carpet," ensuring the best infrastructure to attract investment, EVNNPC continuously strives to coordinate with the government, relevant departments, and the people to ensure the timely implementation of investment and construction projects and electricity supply within its management area.

The Northern Power Corporation and Nghe An Power Company always prioritize customer service, providing customer-centric services and putting customers at the "center," ensuring sufficient electricity supply for investors and loads serving socio-economic development in the area. Currently, the 110kV power line construction projects in Nghe An province are progressing on schedule.

During a meeting with the Northern Power Corporation on February 15, 2017, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, praised the efforts of the power sector in meeting the local electricity needs over the past years.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated: Thanks to the attention of the Northern Power Corporation, Nghe An province has received investment in the construction of power generation projects, the development of transmission and distribution grids, and power supply projects for economic zones, industrial parks, and factories, promptly meeting the construction and business production needs of customers. The increasingly high-quality power supply has met the production needs of investors and the daily lives of the people, making a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the province.

As the unit directly implementing electricity projects in Nghe An, Mr. Trinh Phuong Tram - Director of Nghe An Power Company, said: "To perform our duties well, we continue to innovate in our thinking and working methods, creating new momentum and breakthroughs."

This includes strongly reforming administrative procedures, reviewing and improving the quality of customer service according to the "three easy" principle: "easy to access - easy to participate - easy to monitor". It also involves strengthening the dissemination and promotion of the Customer Care Center's activities to electricity users, while simultaneously sanitizing operations in the electricity business. Furthermore, it includes organizing inspections of business and customer service activities, especially the process of electricity supply, and strictly handling cases of harassment and corruption.
