Nghe An: Eight establishments fined 63 million VND for food safety and hygiene violations.
(Baonghean.vn) - During the "Month of Action for Food Safety and Hygiene Quality" in 2016, the inter-agency inspection team on food safety in Nghe An province fined 8 establishments for violations of food safety and hygiene regulations with a total amount of 63 million VND.

2016 marks the 17th year that Nghe An province has organized the "Month of Action for Food Safety and Hygiene Quality". This year's month of action runs from April 15th to May 15th, 2016, with the theme "Continuing to produce, trade, and consume safe vegetables and meat".
In addition to disseminating information on legal regulations regarding food safety in livestock farming and vegetable production, Nghe An province has established an inter-agency inspection team to conduct inspections and checks to ensure food safety at facilities involved in the production, preliminary processing, processing, import, distribution, and sale of food, especially at wholesale markets supplying vegetables, meat, and agricultural products.

Operating from April 21st to May 13th, 2016, the inter-agency inspection team conducted inspections of 15 food production, processing, and trading establishments. During the inspections, the team discovered 8 establishments violating food safety and hygiene regulations, issued administrative violation reports, and imposed fines totaling 63 million VND. Of these, the team suspended production at one violating establishment.

Through inspection activities, the inter-agency team promptly reminded production, processing, and business establishments to raise awareness of food safety and hygiene; and requested relevant levels and sectors to rectify the state management of food safety and hygiene.
