Nghe An: 8 establishments fined 63 million VND for violating food safety regulations
(Baonghean.vn) - During the "Month of Action for Food Safety and Hygiene Quality" in 2016, the Interdisciplinary Food Safety Inspection Team of Nghe An province fined 8 establishments for violating food safety and hygiene with a total fine of 63 million VND.

2016 is the 17th year Nghe An province has organized the “Month of Action for Food Safety and Hygiene”. This year’s month of action starts from April 15 to May 15, 2016, with the theme “Continue to produce, trade, and consume safe vegetables and meat”.
In addition to activities to disseminate legal regulations on ensuring food safety in livestock farming and vegetable production; Nghe An province has established an interdisciplinary inspection team to conduct inspections and checks to ensure food safety at food production, preliminary processing, processing, import, circulation and trading establishments, especially wholesale markets, supplying vegetables, meat and agricultural products.

Operating from April 21 to May 13, 2016, the interdisciplinary inspection team inspected 15 food production, processing and trading establishments. Through the inspection, the team discovered 8 establishments violating food safety and hygiene, made administrative violation records, and fined the violating establishments with a total amount of 63 million VND. Of which, the team suspended production for 1 violating establishment.

Through inspection activities, the Interdisciplinary Delegation promptly reminded production, processing and trading establishments to raise awareness of food safety and hygiene; and requested all levels and sectors to rectify state management of food safety and hygiene.
