Nghe An launches the 2024 Month of Action for Children.
On the morning of June 7th, in Tuong Duong district, Nghe An province, a ceremony was held to launch the 2024 Action Month for Children with the theme "Practical Action, Prioritizing Resources for Children" and to sign a commitment to implement "A Safe Summer for Children".
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Nam - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Children's Affairs; and representatives from the People's Committees and Departments of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, and Ky Son districts.

With the theme "Practical Action, Prioritizing Resources for Children," this year's Month of Action for Children aims to raise awareness and a sense of responsibility among agencies, organizations, and individuals in organizing practical activities, mobilizing resources to address issues related to children, and preventing injuries and drowning accidents among children; protecting and supporting children to interact healthily and creatively in the online environment.
Over the years, the education, protection, and care of children have always received special attention from all levels, sectors, localities, social organizations, associations, and the people, creating conditions for children to develop comprehensively and have a safe and healthy living environment. Many programs with profound humanitarian significance have contributed to the successful implementation of the Party, State, and city's policies, such as regular care for poor children and children in difficult circumstances.

The annual Month of Action for Children is an opportunity for Party committees, government agencies, sectors, organizations, and each family to review and assess what has been achieved and what has not been achieved in the work of protecting and caring for children; thereby raising awareness and responsibility, and effectively resolving issues related to families and children right in the community. It is also an opportunity for all of us to take practical actions and contribute to children.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Nam - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Children's Affairs - emphasized: To continue effectively implementing children's affairs in general and activities during the 2024 Action Month for Children in particular, Party committees, authorities, departments, and organizations from the provincial to the grassroots level need to pay attention to and coordinate the implementation of several key areas, including: Continuing to fully and promptly implement the Party and State's policies and regulations for children; the province's programs, projects, plans, and action goals for children for the period 2021-2025 and up to 2030; Strengthening inter-sectoral coordination to effectively implement the objectives of the 2024 Action Month for Children; and Strengthening state management, especially inspection and monitoring of the implementation of mechanisms, policies, and children's rights. Timely commendation and rewarding of exemplary individuals and good deeds are essential. Simultaneously, organizations and individuals who are irresponsible in the implementation process and who violate laws regarding children's rights should be severely criticized and punished.

At the ceremony, the organizers presented 60 gifts to students in Tuong Duong district who have overcome particularly difficult circumstances, are well-behaved, and excel in their studies and personal development.
On this occasion, representatives from the child affairs steering committees of the four districts of Tuong Duong, Ky Son, Con Cuong, and Anh Son, on behalf of 21 districts, cities, and towns, signed a commitment to implement the 2024 Action Month for Children with the theme: "Practical actions, prioritizing resources for children," and also signed a commitment to implement the "Safe Summer for Children" in 2024.
