Nghe An: 426 cases of drunk driving detected during New Year's Day holiday.
During the four-day New Year's holiday in 2026, through increased patrols and inspections on traffic routes, the Traffic Police force of Nghe An province detected 426 cases of drunk driving, accounting for a large proportion of the total 1,229 traffic safety violations processed.
According to information from the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police, during the four-day New Year's Day holiday in 2026 (from January 1st to January 4th, 2026), the traffic police force throughout the province detected and recorded 1,229 cases of traffic safety violations. The total amount of administrative fines collected and transferred to the State budget reached nearly 900 million VND.

During the enforcement process, authorities temporarily seized 444 vehicles of various types; revoked driving licenses for 13 individuals; and deducted points from driving licenses for 192 individuals as per regulations.
Of these, drunk driving accounted for the largest proportion with 426 cases; speeding 161 cases; oversized and overloaded vehicles 52 cases; driving in the wrong lane 127 cases; traffic light violations 5 cases, along with several other offenses.
The Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police announced that in the coming time, the force will continue to maintain patrol and control activities, strictly handling violations, especially violations related to alcohol levels and speed, in order to ensure traffic safety, reduce accidents, and build awareness of traffic law compliance among the people.
