Nghe An province discovers irregularities totaling over 308 billion VND.

(Baonghean.vn) - Following inspections and audits of budget revenue and expenditure in the province, authorities discovered irregularities totaling over 308 billion VND and 2,405 hectares of land.

According to the 2015 Anti-Corruption Report of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, through inspection, budget appraisal, final account verification, control of budget revenue and expenditure, and investigation, supervision, and trial work of various sectors in the province, a total of 308.133 billion VND and 2.405 hectares of land were found to be in violation of regulations (a decrease of 19.03% compared to 2014).

Specifically, anti-corruption efforts uncovered irregularities totaling 306.8 billion VND, including 1.33 billion VND in monetary corruption.

During the year, 205 financial inspections were conducted at 589 units, with 184 completed and conclusions issued for 159. These inspections uncovered violations in 460 units, leading to recommendations for handling over 44.4 billion VND and 2,405 hectares of land.

The investigating agency has initiated legal proceedings in 11 cases involving 24 defendants accused of corruption-related crimes. Of these, prosecution has been recommended in 6 cases involving 18 defendants; 2 cases involving 2 defendants have been temporarily suspended; and 3 cases involving 4 defendants are still under investigation.

According to assessments, in 2015, Nghe An did not experience any serious corruption cases. The number of corruption cases detected this year was 5 cases with 6 defendants (a decrease compared to 2014, 7 cases/12 defendants).
