Nghe An effectively implements the program of lending fertilizer to farmers with deferred payment.

On the morning of October 25th, the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association and the Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company held a conference to summarize the program of providing deferred payment loans for fertilizers to farmers from 2020-2025 and to implement tasks for the 2025-2030 period.

Attending the conference were: Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Mr. Nguyen Quang Tung - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association; and Labor Hero Truong Van Hien - General Director of Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company.

Over the past five years, Nghe An Agricultural Materials Corporation has supplied farmers with more than 66,500 tons of fertilizer, with a total value exceeding 480 billion VND. The program is organized regularly according to the seasons, helping farmers proactively secure supplies and ensure timely planting, especially during financially challenging times.

Along with providing capital and supplies, the Nghe An Agricultural Materials Corporation and the Provincial Farmers' Association also collaborated to organize technical training and promote the scientific use of fertilizers, helping to change perceptions and improve investment efficiency. Previously, farmers were hesitant to use high-concentration NPK fertilizers, but now, thanks to technical guidance and advice, many have confidently switched to using higher-quality, more economical, and more effective fertilizers.

The program also laid the foundation for the formation of large-scale farming models, linking agricultural production and consumption, contributing to increased productivity and stable output. Thanks to timely fertilizer supply, many areas producing rice, corn, peanuts, sugarcane, etc., maintained good planting schedules, increased yields, and significantly improved farmers' incomes.

Entering a new phase, the collaborative program between the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company will continue to be implemented within the context of a two-tiered local government management model. To adapt to the new situation, both sides agreed to innovate organizational methods, clearly define responsibilities, and promote the application of digital technology in management and operation.

According to the plan, during the 2025-2030 period, the program aims to supply farmers with 80,000-90,000 tons of various fertilizers, with a total estimated value of 700-750 billion VND, ensuring a 100% debt recovery rate. The Provincial Farmers' Association will directly assign targets to commune and ward-level units; while the General Corporation of Agricultural Supplies will allocate the plan to each regional branch. Coordination, contract signing, monitoring, and debt recovery will be carried out transparently and smoothly using online management software.

In addition, businesses will restructure their distribution network, expanding agricultural supply points to communes, shortening transportation distances, reducing intermediary costs, and ensuring timely delivery. Farmers' associations at all levels will intensify propaganda, technical training, and capacity building for grassroots officials and members on the economical, efficient, and safe use of fertilizers.

Beyond its economic benefits, the program also possesses profound social value. Through the credit guarantee system, the Farmers' Association affirms its role in representing, protecting the rights of, and supporting its members in production development. For businesses, the program helps expand distribution networks, strengthen brands, and foster closer ties with farmers – the direct consumers of the products.
