(Baonghean.vn) - The Chairman of the People's Committee - Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue has just issued Official Dispatch No. 37/CĐ-UBND on overcoming the consequences of floods and heavy rains.

The official dispatch stated that, due to the influence of a cold front combined with the northern edge of the tropical convergence zone with its axis passing through the Central region, from October 15th to October 20th, 2020, the province will experience cold weather.Nghe AnThere has been moderate to heavy rainfall, with precipitation generally ranging from 100-400mm, and in some places exceeding 400mm.

To proactively address the consequences of heavy rain and flooding, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue - requests the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns; the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Border Guard Command, and the Directors of relevant departments, agencies, and units to immediately implement the following urgent tasks:

1. Strictly implement the contents of the Standing Committee of the Party Central Committee's Telegram dated October 16, 2020, on strengthening disaster prevention and control and overcoming the consequences of floods in the Central provinces; Prime Minister's Telegram No. 1411/CĐ-TTg dated October 18, 2020; the Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control Telegram No. 27/CĐ-TWPCTT dated October 17, 2020; and the Provincial Party Committee's Urgent Telegram No. 01-CĐ/TU dated October 18, 2020.

2. People's Committees at all levels and mass organizations shall organize visits and provide support to families with members affected by accidents, families entitled to preferential policies, and families who have been injured.damagesSeverely affected by the recent floods, the district allocated contingency funds to provide support as per regulations; guided the people to help each other overcome damage to houses, property, and the environment; restored rice, corn, and vegetable production damaged by flooding; repaired schools and restored clean water facilities to serve the people's daily needs.

3. Immediately inspect and review residential areas, agency headquarters, workplaces, and unit encampments; resolutely relocate and evacuate people, vehicles, and property from dangerous areas, especially areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and inundation, to ensure the safety of people's lives and property, as well as state property.

4. Operate structures within irrigation and dike systems, proactively drain water promptly according to the situation of each locality; inspect and ensure the safety of reservoirs and dams.

5. Strictly manage and guide traffic at ferry terminals; on traffic routes, underpasses, and flooded or landslide-affected areas; install markers, assign personnel to guard, close roads, reroute traffic, and guide traffic to ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic.

6. Maintain a strict 24/7 duty roster and regularly report to the Provincial People's Committee (through the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue) for timely action.
