Nghe An reviews the organization of the "Journey to Lang Sen" Marathon.
On the afternoon of June 3rd, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a meeting to review the preparations for organizing the 2024 Nghe An Marathon "Journey to Lang Sen Village".
Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were Comrade Nguyen Van Ba - Editor-in-Chief of Vietnamnet Newspaper; representatives from several departments and agencies, the districts of Nam Dan and Nghi Loc, and Vinh City; and representatives from Win Vietnam Company.
The 2024 Nghe An Marathon "Journey to Lang Sen Village" is part of a series of activities celebrating the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024), organized by the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee under the direction of the Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with Vietnamnet Newspaper and Win Vietnam Company.
The race took place on June 8-9, with four distances: 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km. It was conducted on routes managed by the following localities and units: Cua Lo town, Nghi Loc district, Hung Nguyen district, Nam Dan district, and Vinh city, using funds from social contributions.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at 7:30 PM on June 8th; the closing ceremony will be held at 9:30 AM on June 9th, at Binh Minh Square, Cua Lo town.
The organizers announced that nearly 3,200 athletes have registered to participate in the race so far, including 28 foreign athletes and 12 professional athletes.
At the meeting, the Organizing Committee members discussed and exchanged ideas on ensuring professional services, logistics, medical care, and security for the race.
To date, preparations for the race, such as surveying the race routes; maintaining and repairing the roads; arranging volunteers, referees, and medical staff; managing traffic flow, ensuring security and order, and promoting the race, have been implemented by relevant agencies, units, and localities.
Concluding the meeting, Comrade Bui Dinh Long – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The 2024 Nghe An Marathon “Journey to Lang Sen Village” is an event of significant political and social importance, helping to promote the image of President Ho Chi Minh's homeland and introduce the cultural values and tourism products of Nghe An to domestic and international tourists.
Therefore, relevant departments, units, and localities need to strengthen coordination and thoroughly prepare plans and conditions to serve the race, focusing on traffic management, ensuring security and order on the race routes; ensuring accommodation and meals for athletes; and promoting visual publicity about the race. In addition, it is requested that leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and localities participate in accompanying runs in some short distances to contribute to promoting the race.
