Nghe An is about to host the Lotus Food Festival.
The lotus flower and its fragrant scent not only bring an elegant and refined beauty, but dishes made from lotus also offer unforgettable experiences. At the Nghe An Lotus Tourism and Culinary Festival, visitors will be awarded prizes for dishes made from lotus from President Ho Chi Minh's hometown and prizes for premium lotus teas.
The Nghe An Lotus Food Festival is scheduled to take place from November 29th to December 1st, 2024, at the Provincial Cultural Center and Ho Tung Mau Pedestrian Street in Vinh City.
In addition to the vibrant cultural and artistic activities on the pedestrian street, the Lotus Food Festival will offer locals and tourists unforgettable experiences through cuisine made from lotus ingredients from Uncle Ho's hometown, Lotus Village.

The lotus flowers of Lang Sen village possess a unique beauty. The people of Lang Sen are not only proud of their lotus flowers but also know how to utilize all parts of the lotus to create distinctive dishes, adding a rich and vibrant touch to the Vietnamese culinary tradition.

At the Nghe An Lotus Food Festival, visitors will experience the cultural atmosphere of Lotus Village, where beloved President Ho Chi Minh was born and raised, with activities recreating rural life. While enjoying dishes made from lotus from President Ho Chi Minh's hometown, visitors will also be awarded prizes of premium lotus tea.

Dishes made from lotus are diverse, rich, elegant, and good for health. For example, lotus seed sweet soup is a traditional dish made from lotus seeds, sugar, and coconut milk. Lotus seed sweet soup has a refreshing, cool taste that is irresistible.
Lotus seed soup is a wonderful combination of dried lotus seeds and other nutritious ingredients. Lotus seeds are also used to make lotus seed cakes, combined with rice flour and sugar to create a cake with a mild, sweet flavor that is very appealing.

Lotus seeds, on the other hand, create a nutritious dish made with lotus seeds, chicken, and vegetables. If customers prefer something richer, they can choose to enjoy lotus seed terrine. This is a crispy dish made from lotus seeds, minced meat, and vegetables. It has a sweet, crunchy taste and is very appealing.

Dishes made from lotus include salads, stir-fries, or refreshing soups. Lotus leaves are used to wrap rice and sticky rice, creating a characteristic pure and delicate aroma. The pristine white lotus root, through the skillful hands of chefs and artisans, has been transformed into delicious and artistic traditional dishes.

When talking about lotus cuisine, one cannot fail to mention lotus tea. It's a special type of tea made from fresh lotus petals. The tea has a subtly sweet taste, a fragrant aroma, and is very good for health.

The program is large-scale, with participation from many provinces and cities, featuring quarterly booths promoting and introducing tourism, cuisine, culture, and lotus-related products; marking the presence of lotus cuisine on Vietnam's culinary tourism map. The event also connects and promotes tourism products of Nghe An as well as other provinces and cities nationwide.
This is also an opportunity for domestic tourism businesses to survey and connect tours and routes to the Central region and Nghe An province. It will also help update new tourist destinations on the Nghe An tourism map and provide new information to develop products that will attract tourists in the future.
The "Lotus Tourism and Culinary Festival" program is expected to include a variety of activities such as: Opening ceremony, demonstration of lotus cuisine; showcasing lotus-based tourism and culinary products; welcoming a Famtrip delegation to survey the development of tourism products in Nghe An; and a conference on developing Nghe An tourism products linked to the national tourism brand within the North Central region's tourism linkage.
With this program, the Vinh city pedestrian street will be one of the important highlights, featuring many stalls displaying and introducing products from Nghe An and other provinces and cities nationwide.
The Nghe An Lotus Culinary Festival is organized by the Nghe An Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center. It is directed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Nghe An Province, in cooperation with the Tourism Development Fund (Vietnam National Tourism Administration), the Vietnam Culinary Association, and provincial-level agencies and sectors. The festival will be held from November 29th to December 1st, 2024. Location: Provincial Cultural Center and Ho Tung Mau Pedestrian Street, Vinh City, Nghe An Province.
