On the evening of October 16th, Mr. Hun Vi Thay, Secretary of the Party Committee of Chau Quang commune, Quy Hop district, reported that a mine collapse had occurred in the commune, resulting in 3 deaths and 1 injury.

According to Mr. Thảy, the incident occurred between 4 and 5 PM on October 16th at a quarry belonging to Cường Hải Mineral and Trade Joint Stock Company in Châu Quang commune, resulting in 3 deaths and 1 seriously injured person who was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

“The quarry collapse resulted in three deaths, including Mr. Luong Van Huong, born in 1982, residing in Quang Huong hamlet, Chau Quang commune, and two others from Chau Cuong commune. All three were from Quy Hop district. Currently, Mr. Huong's body has been returned home for funeral arrangements. The incident is being investigated by the authorities,” Mr. Thay said.

According to our sources, by 8:30 PM that same day, authorities and representatives from Cuong Hai Company were completing the necessary procedures to bring all three victims back to their hometowns for burial. The driver, who sustained serious injuries, was being taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Currently, the cause of the quarry collapse is still being investigated by the authorities.
