Nghe An: Consecutive catastrophic accidents, 6 people died

(Baonghean.vn) - Within just 30 minutes, in Nghia Xuan commune, Quy Hop district (Nghe An), two extremely serious traffic accidents occurred, killing 6 people and injuring many others.

The first traffic accident occurred at 4:30 p.m. on March 31, 2017, on National Highway 48, through Lien Xuan hamlet, Nghia Xuan commune, Quy Hop district.

According to witnesses at the scene, the accident occurred when a Howo truck (also known as a tiger) collided with a passenger bus going in the opposite direction.

Accordingly, the Howo truck was traveling from Que Phong district to Yen Ly, while the passenger bus was traveling in the opposite direction on National Highway 48. The passenger bus had the license plate 37B - 020.20, while the truck's license plate had been removed immediately after the accident occurred.

The strong collision killed three passengers on the bus, including two women and one child; many other passengers were taken to the emergency room. The identities of the driver, vehicle owner and victims are currently being verified.

Only about 30 minutes after the above accident, about 1.5km from the first accident, also on National Highway 48, through Khe Do hamlet, Nghia Xuan commune, another extremely serious traffic accident occurred between a tractor trailer with license plate 38C - 011.10 and a motorbike with license plate 37X6 - 6355.

The tractor was traveling in the direction of Yen Ly - Que Phong, while the motorbike was traveling in the opposite direction. There were 3 people on the motorbike at the time. The accident left 1 person on the motorbike dead on the spot, 2 others died on the way to the emergency room. The victims were identified as Nguyen Van Chinh, Nguyen Van Quang, and Yen Van Tung, all living in Khe Do hamlet.

Immediately after the accident, the Traffic Police Team of National Highway 48 - under the Traffic Police Department (Nghe An Police) and local police forces promptly arrived, organized emergency treatment, blocked off the scene and investigated and handled the case according to regulations.
