Nghe An: A series of tragic accidents claim 6 lives.

(Baonghean.vn) - Within just 30 minutes, two extremely serious traffic accidents occurred in Nghia Xuan commune, Quy Hop district (Nghe An province), resulting in 6 deaths and many injuries.

The first traffic accident occurred at 4:30 PM on March 31, 2017, on National Highway 48, in the section passing through Lien Xuan hamlet, Nghia Xuan commune, Quy Hop district.

According to witnesses at the scene, the accident occurred when a Howo truck collided head-on with a passenger bus traveling in the opposite direction.

Accordingly, the Howo truck was traveling from Que Phong district towards Yen Ly, while the passenger bus was traveling in the opposite direction on National Highway 48. The passenger bus had license plate 37B - 020.20, while the truck's license plate was removed immediately after the accident occurred.

The powerful collision resulted in the immediate deaths of three passengers on the bus, including two women and one child; several other passengers were taken to the hospital for treatment. The identities of the driver, the vehicle owner, and the victims are currently being verified.

Just about 30 minutes after the aforementioned accident, approximately 1.5km from the first location, also on National Highway 48, in the Khe Do hamlet of Nghia Xuan commune, another particularly serious traffic accident occurred between a tractor-trailer with license plate 38C - 011.10 and a motorbike with license plate 37X6 - 6355.

The tractor-trailer was traveling in the direction of Yen Ly - Que Phong, while the motorbike was going in the opposite direction. The motorbike was carrying three people at the time of the accident. One person on the motorbike died at the scene, and two others died on the way to the hospital. The deceased victims were identified as Nguyen Van Chinh, Nguyen Van Quang, and Yen Van Tung, all residents of Khe Do hamlet.

Immediately after the accident occurred, the Traffic Police Team on National Highway 48 - under the Traffic Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) along with local police forces promptly arrived at the scene, organized the rescue of the injured, cordoned off the scene, and investigated and handled the case according to regulations.
