Nghe An strengthens connections for agricultural product consumption.
On the afternoon of April 21st, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Nghe An province held a working session with Bach Hoa Xanh Trading Joint Stock Company to strengthen connections and promote the consumption of local agricultural products.
Attending the working session were Ms. Vo Thi Nhung – Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, representatives from specialized sub-departments, departments, and agricultural production and processing facilities in the area, and a delegation from Bach Hoa Xanh Trading Joint Stock Company.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Vo Thi Nhung, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, stated that Nghe An province has great potential for agricultural development, with a large production area and abundant, diverse agricultural products. The province currently has over 168,000 hectares of rice cultivation, nearly 42,000 hectares of vegetables and fruits, and over 20,000 hectares of fruit trees. In addition, livestock and aquaculture production has also shown stable growth over the years.
In 2024, the total export value of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products from Nghe An reached over 620 million USD, of which aquatic products alone accounted for over 106 million USD, cassava and cassava products nearly 100 million USD, and processed fruits over 21 million USD…

To date, the province has 728 OCOP products rated 3 stars or higher (including 681 products rated 3 stars, 45 products rated 4 stars, and 2 products rated 5 stars), and there is 1 OCOP product with the potential to achieve 5 stars that is currently being evaluated and classified by the central government.
However, Ms. Vo Thi Nhung also frankly acknowledged: "Although Nghe An's agricultural products are present in many domestic and international markets, building a stable, long-term consumption chain with large distribution systems still faces many limitations. Therefore, connecting with modern retail systems like Bach Hoa Xanh is an important opportunity for Nghe An's agricultural products to reach a wider range of consumers, especially in the Central and Southern markets."
During the meeting, representatives from Bach Hoa Xanh Trading Joint Stock Company stated that Bach Hoa Xanh is a retail chain selling essential food and consumer goods belonging to the Mobile World Group. As of February 2025, the system had 1,864 stores nationwide, with approximately 70% of the new outlets this year concentrated in the Central region – one of the company's key markets.
In Nghe An province alone, Bach Hoa Xanh is actively expanding its system with a plan to build 30 stores, of which 5 are already operational, along with a central warehouse in Vinh City. The company also hopes to find partners supplying local agricultural products to build sustainable links, ensuring a fresh, clean, and stable supply of goods in terms of both quality and quantity.
Also during the meeting, representatives from many cooperatives and agricultural production businesses in Nghe An province had the opportunity to introduce their products and directly exchange information with the purchasing departments of Bach Hoa Xanh. Both sides initially agreed on supply plans, quality standards, and production volumes to meet market demands, moving towards signing future product consumption agreements.
In the coming period, Nghe An's agricultural sector will continue to expand its connections with other distribution systems nationwide to diversify outputs, contributing to increasing the value of agricultural products and improving the lives of farmers.
