Nghe An: Fishing boat engine dies at sea, 7 fishermen rescued safely
(Baonghean.vn) - At around 5:00 a.m. on March 23, Nghe An fisheries control force towed a fishing boat of fishermen from Son Hai commune (Quynh Luu) that was in distress at sea to shore safely.
Previously, on March 4, fishing boat NA 93209 TS, captained by fisherman Tran Van Khanh (residing in hamlet 2, Son Hai commune) and 6 crew members left Lach Thoi port to go fishing.

At dawn on March 20, while the ship was operating at coordinates 19 degrees 06 North latitude, 106 degrees 49 East longitude, nearly 70 nautical miles from the mainland, the engine suddenly seized and then died.
After 2 days of unsuccessful attempts to fix the problem, the fishermen on the boat contacted the Ben Thuy Coastal Information Station to request rescue. Upon receiving the report, Nghe An Fisheries Surveillance Ship 93967 quickly went to the scene to tow the boat in distress.
At 5:00 a.m. on March 23, the fishing boat in distress and the 7 fishermen on board were safely towed to Lach Quen port, Tien Thuy commune by Nghe An fisheries control force. The health of the crew members has gradually stabilized.

Representatives of Nghe An Fisheries Surveillance held a handover ceremony for 7 fishermen on the distressed fishing boat in the presence of Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station.
