Nghe An: Appraisal and recognition of 2 traditional craft villages in Con Cuong district

(Baonghean.vn) - On October 27, the provincial Council for Appraisal of Traditional Craft Villages recognized two traditional craft villages in Con Cuong district.

Craft villageLeaf yeast wine in Xieng village, Don Phuc communehas existed for a long time, although there have been ups and downs, but has been passed down by the people here for many generations, in recent years the profession of making fermented wine has tended to develop strongly, up to now there are 41 households with 48 workers participating. The village has 3 wine making groups concentrated in 3 households, always with 30-40 workers.

With an average capacity of about 200-300 liters of wine per day; an average of 6-7 thousand liters per month. Traditional manual production, yeast is brewed from 12 natural herbs, simple tools, easy to use and does not pollute the environment.

The average income of the craft village households is more than 28 million VND/year, the average income of each worker is 18 million VND/person/year. The main consumption market is in the district, province and some other provinces in the country.

The wine making village in Chom Muong village, Mau Duc commune is also a long-standing craft village closely associated with the daily life of the Thai people. Up to now, there are 102 households making the craft, with an average capacity of about 200-230 liters of wine per day, an average of 5-6 thousand liters per month, with a revenue of 1.9-2 billion VND, and an average income of 16-17 million VND/worker/year.

After inspecting the actual production of the two above-mentioned craft villages, the members of the Appraisal Council agreed that the Leaf-Yeast Wine Craft Village in Xieng village, Don Phuc commune and the Can-Wine Craft Village in Chom Muong village, Mau Duc commune basically met all the criteria for the Appraisal Council to grant a certificate of recognition to the craft villages.

However, Council members also suggested that the authorities of Con Cuong district, Don Phuc commune and Mau Duc commune should focus on building specific product brands; craft village households should pay attention to building strict regulations for people when participating in craft villages; take advantage of local raw materials, focus on environmental treatment, improve designs... to enhance value, economic efficiency, increase income for people, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the locality.
