Nghe An establishes another marine militia platoon.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 7th, the People's Committee of Hoang Mai Town held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish the Quynh Phuong Ward Maritime Militia Platoon.

Attending the ceremony were: Colonel Tran Van Hung - Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Doan Hong Vu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Town Party Committee; Nguyen Huu Tuy - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Mai Town, along with representatives from various departments, organizations and Quynh Phuong ward.

The Quỳnh Phương Ward Maritime Militia Platoon was established according to Decision No. 1756 of the Nghệ An Provincial Military Command, comprising 31 members organized into 3 squads, primarily fishermen from the ward. They operate on 3 vessels with a capacity of 800 horsepower or more, equipped with support tools such as binoculars, lifebuoys, walkie-talkies, loudspeakers, and other equipment as prescribed.

The platoon's activities are carried out in accordance with the Law on Militia and Self-Defense Forces and are accountable to the Town Military Command; its nhiệm vụ is to coordinate with the Quỳnh Phương Border Guard Station, the Coast Guard, etc., participate in search and rescue operations when required, and maintain social order and safety in the locality.

At the same time, it is important to do a good job of promoting the protection of aquatic resources, preventing illegal fishing activities and unauthorized operations by foreign vessels in our exclusive economic zone.

The establishment of the Quỳnh Phương Ward Maritime Militia Platoon both encourages fishermen to continue venturing out to sea and exploiting marine resources effectively, and strengthens military power to protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands in the current new situation.

On this occasion, the Military Command of Hoang Mai Town also presented more than 100 national flags to boat owners in Quynh Phuong ward. Immediately after the establishment ceremony, the marine militia platoon will begin training and be ready for combat as prescribed.
