Nghe An: Traffic inspectors revoke licenses of 17 drivers.

(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the directives of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Transport, and Plan No. 788/KH-UBND dated December 27, 2016, of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on ensuring traffic safety during the New Year, Lunar New Year (Year of the Rooster), and Spring Festival in 2017 in Nghe An province, the Inspectorate of the Nghe An Department of Transport has developed a plan to ensure traffic safety in Vinh City and some key areas in the province.

From January 9th, 2017 to January 22nd, 2017, the team conducted inspections and enforcement at bus stations and road routes in Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, Quynh Luu, Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, Quy Chau, Que Phong districts, Thai Hoa town, Cua Lo, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Do Luong, Nam Dan, Quynh Luu, and Vinh City, prioritizing inspections on routes from the North and South into Vinh City.

The inspection team compiled 43 reports, documenting 10 administrative violations, including one contractor failing to provide traffic guides during construction on an operational road, resulting in a fine of 311.6 million VND to be paid into the State treasury; and the suspension of driving licenses for 60 days in 17 cases.

Mr. Nguyen Sy Thang, Chief Inspector of Transport, Department of Transport, said that during mobile inspections on road routes, the conditions when vehicles enter and exit bus stations to pick up and drop off passengers were checked. When vehicles showing signs of violations were detected, they were stopped for inspection and strictly handled according to regulations for all types of passenger transport vehicles that committed violations: running off-route or off-schedule; picking up and dropping off passengers illegally; vehicles without or not displaying the required identification badges; competing for passengers or charging passengers illegally; carrying more passengers than permitted; removing or adding seats, seat belts on sleeper buses, emergency hammers, or fire extinguishers; and passenger transport vehicles operating without business registration as required.
