Nghe An: Highlights of October 1st

The total number of delegates attending the Congress was 450, including 350 official delegates and 100 invited guests. Of these, 203 delegates were male (59.4%), and 139 were female (40.6%); 265 delegates were members of the Communist Party of Vietnam (77.4%); and 59 delegates were from ethnic minorities (17.2%).

The 18th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghe An province is a major political event for young people, marking an important turning point in the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement in Nghe An province.

*The flood situation in Nghe An has attracted significant public attention in recent days. Today, water has receded in many flooded areas, but slowly, and in some areas of Vinh City, new flood-prone zones have formed.

On the morning of October 1st, the water level of the Lam River in the lower reaches rose, combined with high tides.causing flooding in dozens of households.in blocks 13 and 15 of Ben Thuy ward (Vinh City).

As of noon today, the water level of the Lam River shows no sign of receding. Dozens of households outside the Lam River dike have been flooded.

The docks of the Waterway Traffic Police and the Customs Control Team located in this area were also flooded.

*Meanwhile, at Vinh Market - the largest wholesale market in Nghe An province - the water level at the western pavilion has risen by about 30cm compared to yesterday.Many small traders were forced to take their goods back home.Houses and roads surrounding the market were also flooded with ice, affecting the daily lives of the people.

According to Vinh City leaders, the reason why the Tay Temple in Vinh Market continues to be severely flooded is because the water level in the Vinh River is rising due to the continuous flow of water from upstream, while the area behind the Tay Temple is low-lying, so water from nearby areas also flows into it.
