Nghe An: Highlights of April 10th

*COn the afternoon of April 10th, a delegation from the Ministry of Health, led by Comrade Nguyen Thanh Long - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Minister of Health, held a working session with the leaders of Nghe An province to discuss the results of health work in 2020 and the key directions and tasks for 2021.

After listening to the report from the leaders and the Health Department of Nghe An province on the results of protecting, caring for, and improving the health of the people, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long assessed that the health care work for the people in Nghe An province has achieved remarkable achievements in the past period. This is evidenced by many figures far exceeding those of other localities and surpassing the targets set in Resolution 20 of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.

Regarding the future development direction of the province's health sector, the Minister of Health stated that it is necessary to identify, build, and develop Nghe An province's health sector into a specialized medical center for the North Central region. The Ministry of Health will focus on supporting and working with the province to achieve this. At the same time, it requested central-level hospitals and Hanoi Medical University to provide comprehensive support in all specialties and train personnel for Nghe An's health sector.

*LRegarding the healthcare sector, recentlyNghe An Friendship General HospitalIt has been recognized by the Ministry of Health as the highest level of technical expertise in medical examination and treatment in the North Central region.

Nghe An Friendship General Hospital, formerly Vinh Hospital, was established on September 18, 1918 (according to Official Gazette No. 7B of the Governor-General of Indochina in 1923). After the August Revolution of 1945, the hospital was renamed Ho Chi Minh Hospital... Through many ups and downs in its long history, in 1997, the hospital officially adopted the name Nghe An Friendship General Hospital. Over more than 100 years of formation and development, with continuous efforts and dedication throughout various periods, the hospital has achieved many remarkable accomplishments. Seafood prices at Lach Van port, Dien Chau have increased sharply. Specifically, the price of grade 1 crab has risen from 200,000-250,000 VND/kg to 400,000 VND/kg; fresh mackerel has increased from 160,000 VND/kg to 220,000 VND/kg; tiger prawns have increased from 400,000 VND/kg to 550,000 VND/kg; and various types of squid have also increased by 100,000-150,000 VND/kg compared to March.

Reportedly, the sharp increase in seafood prices is due to the current tourist season, with hotels and restaurants importing large quantities of seafood to serve their businesses. In addition, the current outbreaks of diseases in pigs, buffaloes, and cattle are complicated, leading consumers to choose other food options for safety, with seafood being a top priority for many.

*NOn April 10th, the Quỳnh Lưu District Police (Nghe An province) announced that they had just completed their investigation.Dismantling a gambling ring.They recorded lottery numbers and betting slips via Zalo and Facebook applications, with numerous links both within and outside the district. The amount of money transacted by these individuals ranged from 3-4 billion VND per day.

Previously, through intelligence gathering, around mid-March 2021, the Quỳnh Lưu District Police discovered three individuals leading an illegal gambling ring operating through the Zalo and Facebook applications: Hồ Trọng Dũng, born in 1982, the ringleader, and two other individuals, Hồ Văn Tứ, born in 1973; and Phạm Đình Lương, born in 1971, both residing in Hamlet 4, Quỳnh Lương Commune, Quỳnh Lưu District.
