Nghe An: Highlights of December 11th

*COn the afternoon of December 11th, in Vinh City, Nghe An province, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Member of the Political Bureau, President of the Republic of Vietnam - visited.Visiting and working at the Headquarters of Military Region 4In commemoration of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2021).

With their comprehensive and outstanding achievements, on behalf of the Party, State, and Central Military Commission leaders, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated and warmly commended the sense of responsibility, will, courage, and determination of the officers and soldiers of Military Region 4 in the recent past.

Next, Comrade Nguyen Xuan PhucThe meeting has taken place.With the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, the President assessed that, during the 2016-2020 period, the most significant achievement of Nghe An was its positive economic development, with a relatively high growth rate averaging 7.2%; Nghe An's economic scale is among the top 10 in the country. 2021 was an extremely difficult year, but the province demonstrated unity, cohesion, decisive and effective leadership and management, successfully achieving its dual goals. To date, the province's growth rate remains a bright spot, particularly in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, industry and construction, exports, budget revenue, and investment attraction.

Regarding the province's development orientation in the coming period, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested that Nghe An effectively implement the dual goals of preventing and controlling the epidemic, ensuring the health and lives of the people. He also called for the recovery and development of socio-economic activities, especially the restoration of consumption, exports, and goods supply. He emphasized identifying the marine and coastal economy, seaports, and marine tourism as key development priorities.

*NOn the occasion of the 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's second visit to his hometown (1961), on the afternoon of December 11th, Comrade Nguyen Van Nen - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, along with a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City, visited...Offering flowers and incense, commemorating Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan - President Ho Chi Minh's mother - at her tomb in Nam Giang commune, Nam Dan district.

Here, Comrade Nguyen Van Nen and the delegation also offered prayers and paid respects at the tomb of Mrs. Ha Thi Hy - President Ho Chi Minh's grandmother - and his younger brother, Nguyen Sinh Xin.

*CAlso as part of the commemorative program, on the afternoon of December 11th, at Ho Chi Minh Square, the Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with the Department of Grassroots Culture and the Ho Chi Minh Museum, organized an event.Opening of the Propaganda Poster ExhibitionA large commemorative plaque marks the 75th anniversary of the National Resistance Day, and a thematic photo exhibition titled "Ho Chi Minh - He is the guiding light" commemorates the 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's second visit to his hometown.

*SOn December 11th, at the headquarters of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh presided over the meeting.Online briefing conferencewith 13 provinces and cities regarding the implementation status of the North-South East Expressway construction investment project, phase 2017-2020.

The project to construct several sections of the North-South East Expressway in the 2017-2020 period comprises 11 component projects, including 8 public investment projects and 3 projects under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. According to the schedule, the majority of projects in Phase 1 are expected to be completed within two years (2022-2023). To date, all 11/11 component projects have commenced construction; the completed volume from October 20, 2021 to the present is approximately VND 2,845.58 billion, equivalent to 4.7%.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Comrade Do Van Chien extended his best wishes to Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long, along with the auxiliary bishops, priests, dignitaries, and the entire Catholic community of the Vinh Diocese. He wished the parishioners a peaceful and happy Christmas in 2021, filled with God's blessings, and a prosperous and healthy New Year in 2022.

Next, in Vinh City, Comrade Do Van Chien attended and witnessed the signing ceremony of the cooperation program between the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province and the Executive Board of the Buddhist Association of the province.

*LRegarding the developments of the Covid-19 epidemic in the province, on December 11th, Nghe An recorded 100 Covid-19 infections, including 36 community cases.

*HTien Phong commune is currentlyCOVID-19 hotspotsIn Que Phong district, among the 5 community-acquired F0 cases recorded on the morning of December 11th, this commune accounted for 3 cases. Given this situation, the local authorities are focusing on community screening and isolating F1 cases according to regulations.

*LIVEIn another development, on December 11th, the leaders of the Nghe An Department of Health stated that, to date...The entire province has administered more than 3.7 million doses.COVID-19 vaccine. Of these, 1,427,030 people have received all the basic doses (accounting for 73% of people aged 18 and over and 43% of the population of Nghe An province). The number of people who have received at least one dose is 1,923,527 (accounting for 98% of people aged 18 and over and 58% of the population of Nghe An province).

For children aged 12-17, 120,371 have been vaccinated to date, representing 38% of children in that age group. During post-vaccination monitoring, health authorities recorded 10 children experiencing mild reactions.
