Nghe An: Highlights on December 11

*COn the afternoon of December 11, in Vinh City, Nghe An Province, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Politburo member, President visitedvisit and work at the Military Region 4 Commandon the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2021).

With the comprehensive and outstanding achievements, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, and Central Military Commission, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated and warmly commended the sense of responsibility, will, mettle, and determination of officers and soldiers of Military Region 4 in the recent past.

Next, comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuchad a working sessionwith the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee. The President assessed that in the period 2016-2020, Nghe An's most obvious result was positive economic development, a fairly high growth rate, reaching an average of 7.2%; Nghe An's economic scale was among the top 10 in the country. 2021 was an extremely difficult year, but the province has united, unified, directed, operated resolutely and effectively, and successfully achieved the dual goals. Up to now, the province's growth rate has been a bright spot, especially in agriculture, forestry, fishery, industry - construction, export, budget collection, and investment attraction.

Regarding the development orientation for the province in the coming time, comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested that Nghe An implement well the dual goal of effectively preventing and fighting the epidemic, ensuring the health and lives of the people. Recover and develop the socio-economy, especially restoring consumption, export, and supply of goods. Identify the marine economy, coastal economy, seaports, and marine tourism as the spearhead of development.

*NOn the occasion of the 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's second visit to his hometown (1961), on the afternoon of December 11, comrade Nguyen Van Nen - Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City delegation visitedoffer flowers and incense, commemorating Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan - Uncle Ho's mother at the tomb named after her in Nam Giang commune, Nam Dan district.

Here, comrade Nguyen Van Nen and the delegation also offered a ceremony to commemorate the tomb of Ha Thi Hy - Uncle Ho's grandmother and his younger brother Nguyen Sinh Xin.

*SOn the morning of December 11, at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, comrade Le Van Thanh - Deputy Prime Minister chairedOnline conferencewith 13 provinces and cities on the implementation status of the North-South Expressway Construction Investment Project in the Eastern region in the 2017-2020 period.

The project to build a number of expressway sections on the North-South Eastern route in the 2017-2020 period includes 11 component projects, of which 8 are public investment projects and 3 are invested under the public-private partnership model. According to the schedule, most of the projects in phase 1 are expected to be completed within 2 years (2022-2023). To date, all 11/11 component projects have started construction; the completed volume from October 20, 2021 to present is about 2,845.58 billion VND, equivalent to 4.7%.

*LRegarding the Covid-19 epidemic in the province, on December 11, Nghe An recorded 100 Covid-19 infections, including 36 community cases.

*HTien Phong communal house is currentlyCovid-19 epidemic hotspotsin Que Phong district. Of the 5 community F0 cases recorded on the morning of December 11, this commune recorded 3 cases. In that situation, the locality is focusing on screening the community and isolating F1 cases according to regulations.

*LIVEIn another development, on December 11, the leader of Nghe An Department of Health said that up to now,The whole province has vaccinated more than 3.7 million doses.Covid-19 vaccine. Of these, 1,427,030 people have received the full basic dose (accounting for 73% of people aged 18 and over and 43% of Nghe An province's population). The number of people who have received at least one dose is 1,923,527 (accounting for 98% of people aged 18 and over and 58% of Nghe An province's population).

For children aged 12-17, 120,371 have been vaccinated so far, accounting for 38% of children in this age group. During post-vaccination monitoring, health authorities recorded 10 children with mild reactions after vaccination.
