Nghe An: Highlights of February 12th
(Baonghean.vn) - The Covid-19 pandemic shows no signs of abating in Nghe An province, with nearly 1,200 new cases recorded this morning alone, and many outbreaks seeing a rapid increase in the number of F0 cases each day. In light of this situation, authorities have issued several new warnings. These are also some of the noteworthy news items on February 12th.
*SOn February 12, 2022, the Nghe An Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported: In the past 12 hours (from 6:00 PM on February 11, 2022 to 6:00 AM on February 12, 2022), Nghe An1,186 new positive cases were recorded.with COVID-19. This includes 260 community cases; 926 cases were previously isolated (919 cases were F1 contacts, 7 cases were from provinces with outbreaks).
The localities with the highest number of patients in the past 12 hours are: Vinh City: 297, Quynh Luu: 253, Hung Nguyen: 150, Cua Lo Town: 119.

The Provincial COVID-19 Prevention and Control Command Center and the Nghe An Department of Health have directed localities to urgently strengthen and supplement personnel and expand mobile health stations based on the evolving epidemic situation in their areas. In addition, to meet the needs of treating F0 cases at home or in their residences in Vinh City, the Department of Health has compiled a list and assigned 6 doctors and 10 nurses currently working at public and private hospitals in the area to support mobile health stations in wards and communes…

On the evening of February 11th, the Nghe An Department of Health issued Official Document No. 569/SYT-NVY regarding...Strengthening disease prevention and control efforts.COVID-19 Information Sent to the People's Committees of Districts, Towns, and Vinh City. The Department of Health requests that the People's Committees of districts, towns, and Vinh City continue to thoroughly and comprehensively implement COVID-19 prevention and control measures in accordance with the new viewpoints and policies of the Government, the National Steering Committee, the Ministry of Health, the Provincial Steering Committee, and the Department of Health; proactively develop scenarios and response plans for epidemic prevention and control suitable to each specific development in the area, especially in light of the potential for a sudden increase in cases.
The organization assesses and identifies areas at very high risk of outbreaks and high risk (outbreak levels 3 and 4) according to the guidelines in Decision No. 218/QD-BYT dated January 27, 2022, of the Ministry of Health; and strictly and fully implements disease prevention and control measures according to each outbreak level as prescribed by the Provincial People's Committee.

*HCurrently, the COVID-19 epidemic in Nghe An has spread to most localities. Many localities have detected cases.some complex outbreaks, rapid rate of spread, with the number of F0 cases reaching hundreds in a short period of time.
As of February 12th, Nghe An province has recorded a total of nearly 29,000 COVID-19 infections, the majority of which were detected within the past month. Currently, the average number of confirmed cases (F0) each day has exceeded 2,000.
Given the complex epidemic situation, the Nghe An CDC recommends strengthening the screening and detection of high-risk individuals in the community, especially those with symptoms, in order to promptly isolate F0 cases from the community. They also urge people returning from epidemic areas nationwide to declare their health status.

According to the Nghe An Department of Health, Molnupiravir is a drug currently undergoing clinical trials and has not yet been licensed for distribution. It is only provided free of charge to COVID-19 patients participating in the research program. The buying, selling, and misuse of Molnupiravir is a violation of the law and poses a potential risk to public health, reducing the effectiveness of COVID-19 prevention and control.
