Nghe An: Highlights on February 12

*SFebruary 12, 2022, Nghe An Center for Disease Control informed: In the past 12 hours (from 6:00 p.m. February 11, 2022 to 6:00 a.m. February 12, 2022), Nghe Anrecorded 1,186 new positive caseswith COVID-19. Of which, there are 260 community cases; 926 cases were quarantined before (919 cases are F1, 7 cases from other provinces with epidemic).

Localities with the highest number of patients in the past 12 hours are: Vinh City: 297, Quynh Luu: 253, Hung Nguyen: 150, Cua Lo Town: 119.

*TIn the context of a rapidly increasing number of COVID-19 patients and a large number of F0s being treated at home or at their place of residence, localities and units are required toproactively implement "4 on-site", actively advise on strengthening and supplementing human resources for mobile medical stations.

The Provincial COVID-19 Prevention and Control Command Center and the Nghe An Department of Health have directed localities to urgently consolidate, supplement human resources and expand mobile medical stations based on the epidemic situation in the area. On the evening of February 11, Nghe An Department of Health issued Official Dispatch No. 569/SYT-NVY regardingstrengthening epidemic prevention and control workCOVID-19 sent to the People's Committees of districts, towns and Vinh city. The Department of Health requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and Vinh city to continue to thoroughly grasp and resolutely and comprehensively implement the work of preventing and fighting the COVID-19 epidemic according to the new viewpoints and policies of the Government, the National Steering Committee, the Ministry of Health, the Provincial Steering Committee and the Department of Health; proactively develop scenarios and plans to respond to epidemic prevention and control in accordance with each specific development in the area, especially in the face of the possibility of a sudden increase in cases.

Organize assessment and identification of areas at very high and high risk of epidemics (epidemic levels 3 and 4) according to the guidance in Decision No. 218/QD-BYT dated January 27, 2022 of the Ministry of Health; strictly and fully implement epidemic prevention and control measures according to each appropriate epidemic level according to the regulations of the Provincial People's Committee.

As of February 12, Nghe An has recorded a total of nearly 29,000 COVID-19 infections, most of which were detected within the past month. Currently, the average number of F0 cases recorded each day has exceeded 2,000.

According to the Nghe An Department of Health, Molnupiravir is a drug in clinical trials, has not been licensed for circulation, and is only used free of charge for COVID-19 patients participating in the research program. The purchase and misuse of Molnupiravir is a violation of the law and poses a potential risk of adversely affecting people's health, reducing the effectiveness of COVID-19 prevention and control.
