(Baonghean.vn) - The Cua Hoi bridge across the Lam River connecting Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces was officially completed; the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee met with 7 retired officials; the leaders of Nghe An province organized a meeting to honor outstanding entrepreneurs; a seminar was held on "Youth fostering the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos"; Nghe An Newspaper won two third prizes at the first national journalism award on disaster prevention and control... These are some of the highlights of October 13th.

*SOn October 13th, the Ministry of Transport, Nghe An province, and Ha Tinh province solemnly organized...The ceremony marking the completion of the Cua Hoi Bridge project.This is part of the investment project to build the Cua Hoi bridge across the Lam River, connecting the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh. This is a key project to celebrate the 19th Congress of the Party Committees of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, term 2020-2025.

The Cua Hoi Bridge project, spanning the Lam River and connecting Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, was approved for investment and construction by the Prime Minister in Document No. 1093/TTg-KTN. The total length of the route is 5.27 km; the bridge section is 1.728 km long; the main span width is 18.5m; and the approach bridge width is 16m. This is a special-grade bridge with the longest extra-distorted span in the country, measuring 153m. The total investment for the project is 950 billion VND, of which 450 billion VND comes from the central government budget and 500 billion VND from the local budgets (Nghe An and Ha Tinh, each contributing 250 billion VND).

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee met with and presented gifts to Comrade Lang Van Chien - former member of the Provincial Party Committee, former Secretary of the Quy Chau District Party Committee, who retired; and presented gifts to former members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Major General Nguyen Huu Cau - former Director of the Provincial Police; Colonel Tran Van Hung - former Commander of the Provincial Military Command; and former members of the Provincial Party Committee: Nguyen Van Do - former Director of the Department of Planning and Investment; Ho Mau Thanh - former Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; Thai Khac Thu - former Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Enterprise Bloc; and Dinh Xuan Khoa - former Rector of Vinh University.

*KTo commemorate Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day, on the afternoon of October 13th, the leaders of Nghe An province held a meeting.Honoring outstanding entrepreneurs of 2020.

Over the past period, the business community and entrepreneurs in the province have created jobs for more than 212,000 workers, contributed 48-50% of the total state budget revenue in the province, and actively participated in social welfare activities.

Provincial leaders always stand side-by-side with and support the growth and development of the business community, paying attention to leading the development of businesses and entrepreneurs; and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of businesses.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Commendation to 20 outstanding businesses and 10 outstanding entrepreneurs of 2020.

Before the sacred image of President Ho Chi Minh, the youth delegation affirmed their commitment to upholding the close and loyal solidarity between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between Nghe An and Laos in particular, ensuring that this bond will remain ever-lasting and enduring; and to continue nurturing the special friendship that President Ho Chi Minh and the leaders of the Party, State, and people of the Lao ethnic groups have built.

Later that same day, in Nghi Thuy ward (Cua Lo town - Nghe An province), the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union organized a seminar titled "Youth Fostering the Special Friendship and Solidarity between Vietnam and Laos". *SOn October 13th, in Hanoi...The commemoration ceremony took place.International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction and ASEAN Day for Disaster Management; awarding the first National Journalism Prize on Disaster Prevention and Control in 2019. Nghe An Newspaper was honored to win two Third Prizes, including the work "The Green Wall at the Foot of the Waves" by the team of authors Chau Lan, Phu Huong, Lam Tung, Van Truong, and Viet Hung, and the work "Vinh Market Deeply Flooded, Traders Immerse Themselves in Black Water to Evacuate Goods" by author Quang An.

*HAt 4:00 AM on October 13th, the center of Typhoon No. 7 was located at approximately 18.3 degrees North latitude and 113.2 degrees East longitude, about 170 km north-northeast of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands. The strongest winds near the center of the typhoon were at level 9 (75-90 km/hour).level 11 gustThe radius of strong winds from level 6, with gusts from level 8 and above, is approximately 170 km from the storm's center.

Toproactive responseGiven the developments of the storm and floods, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Nghe An province issued an urgent dispatch to deal with Typhoon No. 7, requesting the Chairmen of the People's Committees, Heads of the Steering Committees for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of districts, cities, and towns; the Provincial Military Command; the Provincial Border Guard Command; the Provincial Police; and the Steering Committees for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of departments and agencies to proactively prepare disaster prevention and control plans. Some localities are ready with plans to evacuate people from dangerous areas to safe places if the typhoon makes landfall.
