Nghe An: Highlights of April 15th

*COn the afternoon of April 15th, in Vinh City,17th term of the Nghe An Provincial People's CouncilDuring the 2016-2021 term, the Provincial People's Council held its 20th session to consider and decide on matters within its authority. At this session, the Provincial People's Council passed a Resolution.Establish the Office of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies and the Provincial People's Council.; carrying out personnel work within its authority: Dismissing and electing additional members of the Provincial People's Committee; dismissing the Deputy Head of the Economic and Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council, term 2016-2021, in accordance with regulations; considering and issuing several resolutions to ensure timely implementation of projects and promote socio-economic development in the province.

*SOn April 15th, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - presided over the meeting.citizen reception sessionApril 2021. Also attending were representatives from the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, etc. Regarding the issues raised by citizens, the departments, agencies, and localities explained the process of handling these issues; the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that all levels and sectors continue to clarify the issues in the spirit of upholding the rule of law.

*SOn April 15th, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front organized...Online conference with 63 provinces and cities.The conference was held nationwide to assess the results of the first phase of inspection and supervision of the implementation of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term; and to deploy the tasks for the second phase of inspection and supervision. In Nghe An province, this conference was held online, connecting to 21 locations in districts, cities, and towns throughout the province.

*SOn April 15th, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), held a ceremony to announce the report.Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI)2020.

According to the published results, Quang Ninh topped this year's ranking with 75.09 points, followed by Dong Thap (72.81 points), Long An (70.37 points), Binh Duong (70.16 points), and Da Nang (70.12 points). Nghe An province achieved 64.73 points, ranking 18th nationwide, continuing to be among the top provinces in the North Central region.

*SOn April 15th, in Son Hai commune (Quynh Luu district), the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association held the opening ceremony of a store.trading in safe agricultural and food products.Having a safe agricultural produce store will help people feel secure buying quality food, contributing to the spread of Nghe An's agricultural products in the market. This is the first safe agricultural produce and food store in the province established under the direction, guidance, and advice of the Provincial Farmers' Association.

*TMan convicted for pouring gasoline and setting colleague on fire.Due to debt. The first-instance criminal trial of defendant Dinh Khac Quy (born in 1992), residing in Dong Vinh ward, Vinh City, on the charge of "Murder" took place on the morning of April 15th.

According to the indictment, Dinh Khac Quy and Pham Ngoc S. (born in 1994), residing in Hung Loc commune, Vinh City, were friends and had worked together. In March 2020, Quy lent S. 2.5 million VND. This misunderstanding led to the tragic incident. The Nghe An Provincial People's Court sentenced Dinh Khac Quy to 16 years in prison for "Murder"; and ordered the defendant to compensate the victim more than 1 billion VND.
