Nghe An: Highlights of May 15th

At the meeting, the Prime Minister listened to an updated report on the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in Vietnam, discussed solutions that need to be continued in the coming period, especially preparing for possible scenarios and situations, large-scale testing, and vaccination for the population.

* On May 15th, Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Director of the Vinh City Health Center, stated that a rather unusual incident related to the Covid-19 pandemic had occurred in the city. This was a case...The F1 case died before a sample could be taken for testing.

This case involves Mr. Luong Quoc Tr. (88 years old, residing in Le Mao ward). Mr. Tr. is a cancer patient. On April 28th, he had a check-up at Bach Mai Hospital (Hanoi). Afterwards, upon returning to Nghe An, he was taken by his children and grandchildren to continue treatment at Vinh City General Hospital and Nghe An Provincial Oncology Hospital.

Immediately after the announcement of Covid-19 case 3491, linked to Mr. Tr., authorities arrived to investigate, but he had already passed away and was undergoing embalming procedures, making it impossible to collect samples for testing. Because samples from F1 contacts could not be collected, the health authorities decided to upgrade their disease prevention measures. Accordingly, all individuals who had contact with Mr. Tr. since his return from Bach Mai Hospital were required to self-isolate at home for 21 days and undergo three rounds of testing as per regulations. Furthermore, upon receiving the information, the Nghe An Oncology Hospital immediately isolated its Emergency and Intensive Care Unit for 14 days.

That's teacher Nguyen Sy Bang from Tan Dan Secondary School (Nam Dan). He is also the third teacher from Nghe An to receive this award. *TAt this time, along the border, Nghe An's epidemic prevention and control forces have been strengthened to ensure the prevention of any risk of people entering the country carrying the Covid-19 pathogen. Local forces are alsoStrengthening the "ring of defense" in the nationwide effort to combat the epidemic.

The fight against Covid-19 has become a shared task for the entire army and the entire population. Currently, the Nghe An Border Guard is maintaining 100% of its personnel, with over 600 officers and soldiers stationed at 101 fixed and mobile checkpoints and control stations to participate in border control and protection, as well as epidemic prevention and control. In addition to the 66 professional soldiers deployed and reinforced in this phase, the Nghe An Provincial Military Command has reported to Military Region IV to prepare nearly 200 more officers and soldiers ready to continue to the border to carry out management work when required. Districts, communes, and towns in the border area have also been and are continuing to strengthen the people's defense against the epidemic, reinforcing the "anti-epidemic belt" with multiple layers.
