Nghe An: Highlights of March 17th

*On the morning of March 17th, in Vinh City, the Ministry of National Defense, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, and Nghe An province jointly held a meeting.Organizing a scientific conference"General Chu Huy Mân - an outstanding politician and military leader of the Vietnamese revolution, a distinguished son of his homeland, Nghe An."

The seminar was attended by leaders from the Ministry of National Defence, the Central Propaganda Department, the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, central ministries and agencies, as well as many generals, comrades, and family members of General Chu Huy Man.

General Chu Huy Mân (1913 - 2006), former member of the Politburo, former Vice Chairman of the State Council, former Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, former Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, was a brilliant politician and military leader, a shining example of revolutionary ethics. His birth name was Chu Văn Điều, born in Yên Lưu commune, Yên Trường district, Hưng Nguyên prefecture (now Hưng Hòa commune, Vinh City), Nghệ An province.

In his opening remarks at the seminar, Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defense, emphasized that the process of striving and training had transformed the patriotic young man Chu Van Dieu into a brilliant military and political leader, an outstanding general, who made many great contributions to the victory of the Vietnamese revolution. He was also a role model of morality and character of a communist soldier, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to the country and the people.

The results of the seminar will contribute to educating cadres, soldiers, and the people, especially the younger generation, about revolutionary traditions, enhancing patriotism, love for socialism, and national pride and self-respect; building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and progressively modern Vietnamese People's Army, worthy of being the core force for the entire Party and people in firmly defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

*At the seminar, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Nghe An province -He gave an important speech.

The speech included the following passage:“Throughout the long history of the nation's development, the land and people of Nghe An have made significant contributions to that process. Generation after generation, the people of Nghe An have joined the Vietnamese people, bravely fighting and defeating foreign invaders, winning independence and freedom for the nation. Despite the harsh natural environment and the many hardships of history, this land has nurtured and given birth to many outstanding sons and daughters, cultural figures, patriotic intellectuals, revolutionary fighters, and generals who have made glorious contributions, helping to build Nghe An into a land of 'spiritual and talented people.' Comrade General Chu Huy Man is one of those exemplary sons and daughters… “Building on the traditions of the heroic Soviet homeland, learning from the example of Comrade General Chu Huy Man and generations of revolutionary predecessors, the Party Committee and people of Nghe An have persevered, overcome difficulties and challenges, and made many important contributions throughout the revolutionary periods, contributing together with the people of the whole country to the glorious victory in the national liberation revolution and reunification of the country.” "The nation fulfills its noble international obligations"...

*General Chu Huy Mân was a general with both military and literary talents, a sharp-minded politician, and an outstanding disciple of President Ho Chi Minh. Many military strategists and researchers have written about him. On the occasion of his 110th birthday, the Nghe An Newspaper online published an article by Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee:Learning from the communist example of Chu Huy Mân, building a strong Party Committee in Nghe An."

*On the morning of March 17th, the General Department of Taxation held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Director General of the General Department of Taxation regarding...personnel workin Nghe An province.

Based on the regulations and decisions of the Politburo, the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of Finance regarding the decentralization of personnel management and the appointment and nomination of leading and managerial personnel; and based on the unanimous agreement of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, on February 15, 2023, the Acting Director General of the General Department of Taxation issued Decision No. 196 appointing Mr. Vo Van Hung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Cua Lo Town Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Lo Town - to the position of Deputy Director of the Nghe An Provincial Tax Department.

On behalf of the General Department of Taxation and the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - presented the appointment decision and congratulated the new Deputy Director of the Nghe An Provincial Tax Department, Vo Van Hung.

*The 2023 Ly Tu Trong Award Ceremony at the provincial level is scheduled to take place on March 18th. Accordingly, 13 outstanding Youth Union officials from Nghe An will receive this award.

These are Youth Union officials working in various fields. They not only have outstanding individual achievements, but what is particularly special about them is their spirit of constructive contribution and responsibility towards the Youth Union organization. *Due to the low water level of the Lam River, pumping stations are unable to operate, putting over 1,000 hectares of rice fields in Thanh Chuong and Do Luong districts at risk of drought.
