Nghe An: Highlights of July 2nd

Of these, by 12:00 PM on July 1st, all vessels had moved out of the danger zone.

Regarding initial damage as of 7:00 PM on July 1st, two vessels with eight crew members from Quang Tri province sank. All eight fishermen have been rescued safely.

*Over the past period,Status of mineral extraction and transportationThe situation in Quynh Tan commune (Quynh Luu district) is very complex. Exploitation is sometimes carried out openly, challenging the local authorities… The exploitation process not only leads to resource depletion and negatively impacts the environment, landscape, and transportation infrastructure, but also causes public outrage.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Tan commune, the most recent illegal mining activity took place in the early morning of June 29th. “That day, around 4 am, I received a report from residents about illegal mining activities in the area. I immediately went to the scene with some other commune officials, but by the time we arrived, the truck driver had already disposed of the evidence and the excavator had been moved away. Residents managed to film the mining activity, but because it was nighttime, the images were too blurry to be used for legal action,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam.
