Nghe An: Highlights of February 20th

*SOn February 20th, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended...Tree Planting Festival Launch CeremonyForever grateful to Uncle Ho, in the spring of the Year of the Ox 2021 in Phu Yen province, in response to the program to plant 1 billion new trees as an initiative of the Prime Minister.

Earlier in November 2020, speaking at the National Assembly, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc proposed an initiative to plant 1 billion trees over the five years from 2021 to 2025. On December 31, 2020, the Prime Minister signed Directive No. 45/CT-TTg on organizing the "Tree Planting Festival" and strengthening forest protection and development efforts starting in early 2021.

*BThe Propaganda Department of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee has just issued Guideline No. 10-HD/BTGTU, regarding...commemorative propaganda90th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2021).

Accordingly, from now until the anniversary, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requests that Party committees and socio-political organizations from the provincial to the grassroots level focus on publicizing the birth, development, and glorious historical journey of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union through various periods; the glorious traditions of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghe An province; and to awaken pride in the history of development and growth of the Youth Union, Youth Association, and Children's Union among members and young people; as well as the contributions of the young generation of Nghe An province to the overall development of their homeland and country.

Following directives, in recent days, hospitals and medical facilities in the area have continued to review epidemic control plans and intensify measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic. At Nghe An Friendship General Hospital, a new Covid-19 patient screening area with a separate entrance has been built and established at the Tropical Diseases Center. Patients with clinical symptoms and epidemiological factors are brought here for examination, isolation, and treatment. The center has also prepared all necessary facilities, including operating rooms, field delivery rooms, testing areas, on-site ultrasound, and bedside X-ray... all fully enclosed.

Similarly, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Nghe An Trauma and Orthopedics Hospital, and many other hospitals in the province have been strictly implementing the Ministry of Health's criteria for safe hospitals in epidemic prevention and control.

From January to April is the time when herring are fattest and tastiest, so fishermen in Hoang Mai town (Nghe An province) take advantage of the favorable weather after Tet to go out to sea to catch them.

Herring is purchased by traders and transported to feed processing plants or sold as a product to seafood farms. Currently, Hoang Mai has nearly 100 small boats operating near the shore. At the beginning of the new year, short but bountiful fishing trips have helped the local people earn extra income.

Mr. Nguyen Van Muoi's boat, from Phu Loi hamlet, set sail on the 6th day of the Lunar Calendar to fish in the area near Mat Island. After two days, with favorable weather and encountering a large school of fish, he managed to catch 17 tons.

*CAlthough also related to economic activities and daily life, many small traders selling fruits are facing numerous disadvantages becauseGoods are selling poorly.At Vinh Market – the largest wholesale fruit market in Nghe An province – the days following Tet (Lunar New Year) witnessed unprecedented sluggish sales. Fruits that couldn't be sold in time spoiled and had to be thrown away indiscriminately.

The reasons for the sluggish fruit sales are attributed to weak market demand, economic difficulties, and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This has caused significant difficulties for businesses, even resulting in losses right from the start of the year.

At that time, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khuong was riding her motorbike from Vinh towards Do Luong when she collided with a tractor-trailer truck with license plate 37R - 011.02 traveling in the opposite direction at the intersection. The accident resulted in Ms. Khuong's death at the scene. The motorbike was completely destroyed, and two road markers were knocked over.
